  8. Steve Aoki has taken his cake-throwing antics to the next level after he hit a wheelchair-bound fan from 80 feet. Then the surrounding EDM bros embraced the fan as their new hero rubbing the icing in his face in some form of ritualistic ceremony. Afterwards, Steve met the fan sharing the moment via his Instagram below. Thankfully, the target, Ian McAdam, has a good sense of humour as he uploaded the video below and tweeted that the festival was “the best night of his life.” But, Steve’s throwing days might be number after he revealed he has injured his arm, ”I’ve thrown out my arm throwing so many cakes. I’m not kidding, I’ve f—ing thrown out my arm,” said Aoki, who is left-handed. “I can’t really do many arm tricks. I need to, like, rest and recover and build muscle in my shoulder,” he added. 9. Doseone, Alias, Jel and WHY? will be on hand with a plethora of Anticon acts new and old to celebrate 15 years of uncompromising music and art. 2013 marks the 15th anniversary of Hip Hop collective Anticon. A group, label and onetime living cooperative, Anticon has ties to Maine, Ohio and California throughout that decade and a half span, releasing albums by Doseone, Sole, Alias, Jel, WHY?, and many others. To celebrate 15 years, the active label has announced two September anniversary concerts. On September 5, the collective will play at San Francisco, California's 1015 Folsom, followed by a September 6 show Los Angeles' The Echo. Both events will feature co-founders Doseone, Alias, Jel, WHY? and Odd Nosdom, as well as the newer artists including Baths, D33J, Serengeti and Daedelus.
  10. Ditching the DJ booth for the wedding booth, Tiësto took his hand at a new practice yesterday: officiating a marriage. Early this month Tijs made this possible with the announcement of a contest, one seemingly as erratic as his challenge to DJ Mag voters and his pledge to produce a full-length trance album. Sticking by his word, Tiësto has married his first couple in Las Vegas, the newlywed Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Sullivan. Source: dancingastronaut.com
  11. Steve Aoki premieres Linkin Park collaboration ‘A Light That Never Comes’ Last week in Japan, Steve Aoki treated the eastern dance music world to a preview of his forthcoming collaboration with a surprise appearance from its collaborators. Calling on Mike and Chester of Linkin Park, the threesome went on to debut a ‘A Light That Never Comes,’ an electronic based record with rock attitude along with the chorus and hip-hip flavored hooks and interludes. All with Aoki at the helm, the latest fusion of Linkin Park and dance music has Linkin Park leading the way. Source: dancingastronaut.com
