Traktor problems

Just opened up traktor, successfully installed everything but cant get the set up right? im working with 1 cdj 1000 and one cdj 800, my mixer is a djm800. im not much of a wizz with computer and things and i cant seem to set up traktor? i cant rout it or something...... please help. what do i need to do to setup the cdjs as midis and calibrate etc ?

ok so its all setu p i just figured out that i cant change from the vinyl to the cd player on the audio 8 sound card? what am i doing wrong....watching videos tells me this is the next step to setting up

hey mate. in the software you need to setup in preferences which inputs the cd's are plugged into (i assume A & . then ensure that deck A&B are setup as scratch control.

ok so everything is set up fine all the cabling etc. in the book the next step it says to do is to set up the time code control. i cant change the inmput mode on the audio 8 ? the light wont change to cd/line. does anyone know what im doing wrong ?

hey man. do it in the software.

you can change it on the audio 8 by pressing the input button. but once ou start up traktor it will go to software lock anyway.

mate i cant find where to do this ? i use a mac where can i find this setting ?... its giving me the shits i cant set this bloody thing up

how do i set up the routing ? wat are the steps from basic installation up to time code configuration. all i have done is installed the software. then plugs the hardware hooked it all up and now im stuck

hey mate. sorry i was trying to upload pics but cant remember my photoshop login and have to dash out soon.

but basically when you open traktor, at the top left, the first menu item is file.

then preferences, then input routing.

then with channel A, use the drop down boxes to indicate which inputs you have used on the Audio 8.

Same for channel B.

Then also in the preferences menu, there is timecode setup.in the first drop down box select line.

(the second bit i assume, i use vinyl but seems to make sense).

ill be back in an hour or two and try with the pics.

in the time code setup there is no drop down box ? there is only one that indicates a selection of minutes ?

is your traktor set to ext mixer (scope) OR (plain) OR (Sync)

copy the settings in my screen shots in the above post.. and then test.. make sure you have the time coded cd's in your cd players.. and all the connections right.. =D
