russell Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 In a recent interview with Societe Perrier, techno icon Richie Hawtin has revealed that he has recorded a new Plastikman album.Speaking with the site about his recent experience performing Plastikman live at the Guggenheim in New York City last month, Hawtin revealed that the gig inspired him to write fresh new material for his famed moniker - a project he had tried unsuccessfully to complete for six or seven years.“It put me back in the studio and inspired me enough to work on new material, and in five days I created a new album,” he says.“Music came out of me because of the opportunity to play in this beautiful architectural place that is actually renowned for art, not music. And now there’s a new Plastikman album. That’s how close these mediums actually live together but at the same time the mass population sees them as completely different things.”No release date has been set as yet. Cee Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 If you only buy one of the early records or just a single get this (the first few are very different to the later ones not better or worse just different music styles)Buy this Spastik Every time I hear it I am transported to some dance floor in the early nighties if you like it check out the early UR and early Drexciya releases. if you see something on discogs you like I recommend buying from Germany as the feright is still reasonable Quote
russell Posted December 17, 2013 Author Posted December 17, 2013 Spastik always takes me back to the Soundhaus in Glasgow. This was a true underground/illegal club. In those days it didn't even have proper toilets. Couple of port-a-loo's was the go. You could roll a joint, have a cup of tea and melt away in the chill out room, get down in the funk room or have it in the techno room. Spastik takes me to that room. Good times. Quote
