Ridin’ in their “Rari”

Last week, Deco Fam dropped their debut album Chinatown (executive produced by SUPR SPRT) and it’s a project that will have you  The project is currently available on all digital streaming services and you can listen to it HERE. hilarious new music video to accompany their recently released single “Rari” and it’s definitely something worth checking out and getting curious about.

Above is the accompanying music video for their single “Rari” which comes off the new album. The song itself is light-hearted and comical. And much like the rest of the beats from the project, this one is another banger that has you moving to the entirety of the tune.

So who is Deco Fam? The act includes the make-up of two Haitian rappers, who come from  Dade County Miami. However, the two have taken their sound and brought it to the city of La La Land to grow their musical reach. Deco Ho Chi Mayne & Deco STLN (aka Deco Fam) are actually peculiar and more fascinating pair than you may think. They’re not just rappers, but they’re also designers–true artists by trade. For the past 4 years, these two served as footwear designers at PUMA and a lot of their work could be found in the partnerships such as Fenty, The Weeknd, Selena Gomes, and Jay-Z (and many more). The creative community came to recognize their side hustle as they would throw after hour parties at their loft in Chinatown Gate, where super producer Sonny Digital, A$AP Mob, and Michael Christmas have made appearances.

Chinatown, their 11-track project, has already had good reviews! Their single  “Deco Juug” was featured on The FADER in January of this year and Sound of Boston, and the guys themselves have been reviewed by Respect Mag. They also more recently performed at  The PULL UP at ONCE Ballroom in Somerville, MA.

The guys take us on a musical journey of their own that incorporates the stylings of trap, Haitian, and Asian music and brings it all into one big fusion of sound. With heavy bass lines and eclectic percussive tones, the melodies transform into strange and intense compositions. It’s as if you step into Alice’s Wonderland and don’t quite know where you end up, but it’s somewhere in between lit and quirky. So, with all of that being said, I think it’s time you give the music a listen yourself, and hear for yourself the sounds of Deco Fam below:

Be sure to stay tuned as the guys have much more in store and connect with them via social media!
