The Florida natives, Lauren Morgan and Jordan Shih appeared at The Sinclair in Cambridge last night. On this groovy side of town, the dynamic duos’ personalities were as in synced as their music.  When stripped down, the beats and guitar chords are simplistic. Though, with Lauren’s unique voice and Jordan’s jazzy guitar rifts, she brings an electric and eclectic edge that strays far away from the ordinary.

When first entering The Sinclair, there was a strong presence of intimacy.  Although this was a concert, a connection was tied to the crowd and the band. But, before SALES could hit the stage, Hana Vu, a young artist based in LA, invigorated the crowd with her mellow voice and groovy guitar rifts. Hana Vu brought solidity to her performance. With this collaboration of sound, she brings depth to her music and enhances the overall mood, lifting people up off their feet and entrancing the crowd with her buttery smooth transitions.

As she glided across the stage and jived with her band in synchronized dance moves, she did so with ease. At just 17 years old, she composed herself with calmness and poise. While  Hana Vu glided through her setlist, she didn’t stop wowing the audience. Leaving the crowd wanting more, she is unprecedented: one to be watched and one to be praised for her ingenuity.

When Hana Vu left the stage, she gave the crowd what they desired most, fresh tunes to bop along to as we waited for SALES. With the first act underwent, anticipation flooded in the venue. Though, soon enough, SALES came and did not disappoint.

Kicking off the setlist, SALES gave an endless flow of chill indie-pop tunes layered by the sound of the guitar and beat of the drums. SALES strummed along in unison to their many hits. With songs spanning from all their projects like “Pope is a Rockstar”, “You Look Well”, “Chinese New Year”, “Getting It On”, “Sorry Bro”, and many more, SALES gives an appeal to all moods. Each word hangs on to your heartstrings and toils with your emotions, making their music a warm welcome for anyone.

While their performance was underway, SALES presented themselves with immense gratitude to their happy fans. No gloominess lurked in the crowd, but rather love. Instead, their quirky personalities and playful banter between the crowd and themselves made a person feel like you were on the stage with them.  Expressing authenticity through themselves and their music, SALES is a duo that will remind you of what music should be. Both Morgan and Shih are a creative powerhouse who will continue to shock the music industry through their clever lyrics and genius beats.
