Right in the feels, Ministry Of Sound is back with ‘Sessions: Rebirth’

Remember Ministry of Sound’s classic compilation series Sessions? Well it’s back! Forgive us if we start to tear up a little, but we can’t help but get emotional when we picture one of the iconic album covers and remember kicking back to the house sounds of selectors like Mark Dynamix or Tommy Trash.

Sessions: Rebirth is a return to the classic underground house series. It looks to create that same vibe of picking up a mix CD, listening all the way through and hearing non-stop gems. They’ve enlisted some killer names to mix the release and created three distinct sounds. Triple J all-round killer KLP pieces together the eclectic house set, alongside Aussie house veteran Mark Dynamix who gives us a masterclass in club sounds and deep house stalwart Robbie Lowe who goes deep, real deep.

The musical love-in is a blend of Aussie hard-hitters like RÜFÜS DU SOL and Fisher’s ‘Losing It‘ as well as some other local legends like Pantheon and Set Mo. These are topped with international icons from Purple Disco Machine to Camelphat, Calvin Harris and heaps more!

Although smashing together all your favourites seems like a walk in the park, Veteran mixer Mark Dynamix has said that it’s harder than it first seems telling us:

“There are a lot of twists and turns but it’s important that each track flows on from the previous one seamlessly and nothing feels out of place. It takes a good while to work out the track order, probably longer than doing the actual mix itself”

Adding that to make the cut he’s looking for something just a little different adding “Personally, I love those kind of tracks that step outside the norm just enough – I’m always seeking out the hybrid rather than the absolute.”
