Newcomer Reworks 2016 Hit with his own Twist on New Track

Newly-signed to indie imprint One Up Records, recording artist Prince Armani brings an old school sound to a new landscape on his brand-new track ‘No More Parties in Ft. Worth.’

Borrowing its hook from Kanye West and Kendrick Lamar’s 2016 track “No More Parties in LA,” “Ft. Worth” shows off Prince Armani’s storytelling chops over a funky bassline and a punchy beat. The song is a colorful plea to young mothers to be a good role model to their children.

The up-and-coming Fort Worth, Texas, calls on 90’s hip-hop giants like Nas, Jay-Z, 2pac, and Andre 3000 to inform his style. Messages about Black power and everyday struggles are common themes in his music, delivered with clever wordplay and vivid imagery.

Filmmaker Spike Lee took notice of those talents, featuring Armani’s song “Another Cold Summer” in the 2017 TV adaptation of his debut film She’s Gotta Have It. Armani’s dad, a local producer & engineer produces Armani’s music, including “FT. Worth.” Armani is currently gearing up for the re-release of his debut album, The Concrete Rose Theory.
