News Posted December 1, 2018 Posted December 1, 2018 Nicky Romero has been a very busy man in 2018, dropping new songs like clockwork every few weeks or so. The Protocol head-honcho isn’t done yet, as he returns with a new radio-friendly track “My Way” featuring Swedish singer/songwriter Alice Berg. While the bulk of Nicky’s work so far this year has been more festival and club friendly, “My Way” is a much more pop-leaning song. Alice Berg’s vocals are definitely the highlight of the track and she absolutely vibes on this one. The production is relatively minimal on the track, but definitely strays outside Nicky’s nominal progressive house comfort zone. The first verse of the song is essentially Berg’s vocals laid over some percussion. Some piano notes come into play during the buildup, before dropping into an interesting, but fun drop, that’s part future house, part trap, part pop. Berg sings “My way…I don’t know you anymore” as some vocal chops sync up with some light trap drums. No question, Nicky is going for a more mainstream and contemporary sound on this one. This one plays perfectly on the car radio. Check out Nicky Romero ft. Alice Berg “My Way” out now on Protocol Recordings. Nicky also just kicked off a mini-tour of the US at Academy in Los Angeles over Thanksgiving weekend. There are still some dates left to check him out. 12/1-New York-Marquee NYC12/3-Boston-The Grand12/6-Philadelphia-NOTO Philadelphia12/7-Las Vegas-XS12/8-San Francisco-Temple Here’s a clip of his post-Thanksgiving show at Academy LA.
