Soapbox Events & Chinese Laundry deliver you two of the best in the business Saturday 23rd August for another cycle of LNDRY - Clive Henry (Crosstown Rebels UK) & Kid Kenobi (Klub Kids). Clive Henry is one of the UK’s longest standing flag-wavers for underground house music having been an original member of the West London house mafia, one half of the genre-defining tech house outfit Peace Division and resident at the world’s most musically influential nightclub DC10. Kid Kenobi was named Australia’s favourite DJ for a record number of 3 years (2003-2005) and has released over 20 remixes for some of the world’s biggest names in dance, pop and rock, being the first DJ ever to have a CD series named after him by Ministry of Sound. He received an ARIA nomination for ‘The Bump’ with Hook N Sling, and has an itinerary that reads like the Lonely Planet guidebook to clubs worldwide - Kid Kenobi has just about done it all. Clive started his long musical journey way back in the mid-eighties when he was working after school to earn money to feed his vinyl addiction. He caught the DJing bug going to local hip hop jams in West London and listening to early electro/hip hop on pirate radio. It was all about to change however, when in 1988 he was introduced to London’s early acid house scene by Rocky and Diesel from Xpress 2. They took him to the seminal Spectrum and Shoom clubs which proved highly instrumental in shaping Clive’s musical future. August 16th at LNDRY offers a massive line-up of some of the most interesting names in the underground scene- Anklepants (Facè), Doc Daneeka (50 Weapons/NMBRS - GER) & Young Franco Anklepants (yes, the one with that mask) certainly brings a unique spin to performances with live vocals, custom controllers and sensors within his suit to manipulate his sound. This is not your usual club show by any stretch of the imagination, but you can be guaranteed that it will be one of the most talked about shows of 2014. Anklepants has been around for some time in the underground scene in Europe, playing some of the biggest clubs and art style venues & festivals. He gained global awareness when his insane Boiler Room set went viral and if that was anything to go by then this is a show not to be missed! Doc Daneeka is making some of the best house music around right now. His energetic DJ sets have quickly made him one of the most sought after performers by clubs all around the world. Young Franco recently burst onto the scene and with an official signing to Falcona, the Brisbane local has garnered praise from local legends like Kilter, Pilerats, Paces & Alison Wonderland.
