  1. Hi All, I am selling my DJM - 250 in black. I had it for a month and only used it once! $250.00 email sakin@live.com.au if interested
  2. I am happy to sell you my almost brand new 850 cd players & 250 mixer? email sakin@live.com.au if you are interested!
  3. Yes I loaded rekordbox that came with the gear. I think It has a manual in the folder somewhere but i have downloaded your suggestion anyway. I will do some reading and let you all know how I go. I am not really an instruction guy. My learning style is visual. I need to be shown to get it. However I'll give it a go Thank you!
  4. Great advice guys! I love the help you guys provide.. def motivating I am literally doing this on my own with no ones help. I am happy I got you guys! Now I can learn off the pros! Okay well, my plan is to finally get all my music together by this weekend. I have a lot of shitty files I need to fix up. Then using my ears placing songs in folders making sure they sound like they are on a close BPM. Like you said getting creative and practicing is key!
  5. Thanks for that, I am listening to my music heaps to understand what the songs sound like. Its surprising when you really pay attention you notice so much more. The part that I get but dont know how to do is where you said "then once you have the music on your usb you can sort by bpm on the cdj. so for example you choose 100bpm then it asks you for +/- x BPM. So you can choose 100BPM +/-5 then it would show all the tracks between 95 and 105" <-- is there a video demonstration on this or something?
  6. Okay... Well what do you recommend? Its obvious if a song is way off in BPM you wont be able to mix it... I am talking about urban music here. So if i dont trust the BPM reader then what do I do? I am confused! I have 200 tracks with bpms varying from 82 all the way to 150ish. Do I chuck them all in a USB and hope that I can find that is close enough to match? Please guide me in the right direction as I am stuck here and have no idea how to overcome this. Sorry I am new at this and it just seems so confusing to me. EDIT: My set up is DJM 250 & CDJ 850
  7. To be honest, i at times just cant get the beats to match... it gets super frustrating! I also have some R&B music where the BPM's range from 82bpm to 142 bpm. What I also noticed is that the BPM may show example 120 but when you listen it is so slow! BY the way I am getting these BPM's via VDJ Pro. I also noticed that when I play the song via my decks CDJ 850. The BPM doesnt load! It takes forever for it to show me what the BPM really is
  8. Hi All, Anyone know any good software that allows me to easily adjust bpm's? e.g. making a 90bpm 95bpm. I want match the songs so its less hassle when mixing. I play foreign music and the bpms vary heaps. I want to reduce the span. I currently use Virtual DJ Pro but I have to listen to the file at the same time. It takes for ever! Another thing is i dont want to lose quality in the process. Your help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
  9. CapFive: I am sure everyone has some sort of illegal music on their pc. However if you didnt like the post then lock or delete it..
  10. All good I understand. Just thought I did something wrong to the forum rules. I will just make it sound as casual as possible in the future.. maybe add some typing errors FYI my occupation is "Sales Coach" hahaha...who would have thought huh?
  11. I aint selling nothing. I thought it would help those that may be looking for a software as such... No need for the sarcasm...
  12. ???
  13. I dont know if any of you are aware of this AMAZING software but here it is... sharing the love http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/ I think this bundle package should be a part of Windows or Mac! You dont need to search for anything out there... all in one... you want it, you got it! Hope it helps you all with what you may be looking for Sax
  14. I think Dj Rj sounds better
  15. Hi All, I am very new at DJ'ing. I wouldnt even say I am a DJ as yet... I am starting by organising my music and then practicing my a55 off!!! My gear came with rekordbox however i really didnt like the software as it isnt fats neough when analysing the BPM for the tracks. Maybe that is related to the slow PC i have lol. My aim is to sort my music by Genre --> BPM. So when i am djing and want to stress less about mixing a very slow song into a fast one...i can just go to the folder with the closest BPM. I hope that made sense? I am sure some of you may have better ways... So please do share your expertise as I need urgent help. Other question is what software (FREEWARE) can i find/get that can quickly give me BPM etc so i can just drag and drop my music into their appropriate folders? Thanks in advance! DJS
  16. I can relate myself to this topic as it will be only reason why i want to DJ. I will be doing Turkish weddings and being Turkish myself, I have a fair understanding of what the crowd expect. I agree with the oldies topic. Most music played in weddings generally sits around the older music. The new stuff is generally played at the end whrn the young ones want to shake off their moves while trying to stand up straight. I can only talk for the type of weddings I have been involved in. We generally ask the bride and groom for what they want the DJ to play. So they can give you an expectation list with track names or a CD with all the songs. All you do is play them I would suggest you ask for these songs and expectation in a month in advance so you can practice if need be. Hope it helps!
  17. I understand
  18. I would have bought this if I had not already purchased my 850's! I love the speakers though!
  19. I wish this forum had a LIKE option. I am on a motorcycle forum and when you find posts helpful you press like and that simply earns you respect points. Is it available for us here? Back to topic, I agree I am already liking it here
  20. Thanks guys! I feel welcomed already! I chose the 850 because of the fact that 350's were EOL plus, I hate to start on the most basic version/model! Its just me I got the 250 mixer because of the stability in sound quality. I was getting told because of the effects the 350 is a lot more useful but............ i heard so many DJ at functions ie weddings and most have no idea what mixing means. They either drop the song or do a stupid effect and it is so obvious to me that they are SHIT! I want to master the basics then once i am good... I will upgrade my mixer I primarily want to do weddings and bday parties and i think the 850's will be more than enough. I will ask many questions once i get my gear soon.......... i hope
  21. Hi All, I have decided to give the Dj'ing thingy a shot... However music has been something I have loved my whole life. I have a huge range of music in different genres. I have been researching a lot and mayn, there is CRAP loads to learn. Having said that, it is all fun and exciting! My goal is to hopefully receive my Pioneer set up soon, then practice, practice and practice till I am competent to show my talent at a gig! I will be reading heaps on the forum and online to learn as much as I can. My gear is Pioneer CDJ 850 & DJM 250 to start with. I dont have the other stuff yet because dj warehouse is taking FOREVER to get stock!
