Hi Everyone. I am new here, so excuse me if this is the inappropriate thread for this question. I had a browse around and couldn't see anywhere relevant to post questions relevant to promoting ect. Is there anyone out there that can give me some advice as to how they go about setting up an event in a warehouse, or space that is not typically zoned or licensed and what the legal loop holes may be for doing events in places that are not typically a nightclub / Pub. Maybe PM me if u feel this would be better discussed privately ? Currently well and truly sick of compromising how we do things to fit in with venues views of how things should be run and what music is acceptable ect. The venue will have its own Public Liability in place due to its daily activities, will this however be void if we do a party there? I have a possible location I want to use, on a semi regular basis and I am wondering how people/promoters go about this in Sydney or other states in Australia. DO you just pray that the cops don't drop by? Or do you change the "Consent" with council for the venue for the day? or do u just live dangerously? How do you deal with alcohol consumption? BYO or purchase a day licence for sale of grog for the duration of the event? cheers, any advice would be great. thanks Harry
