These Max for Live instruments are available from Ableton’s new Pack partner, Max for Cats.Ensemble (pictured above) is a Max for Live string synthesizer with a built-in morphing formant filter. Inspired by the classic string machines of the 1970s, Ensemble also includes chorus and phaser effects which can be used separately. Ableton describes the instrument: “From weepy prog rock chords to disco stabs, Ensemble is a one-stop vintage string synth shop.”DiGiTAL (pictured above) is a polyphonic synth that fuses aspects of additive, wavetable, frequency modulation and subtractive synthesis. DiGiTAL is designed for creating new sounds and provides a “comprehensive” set of controls expressly for this purpose.The Ensemble string synthesizer is available for $39 US via Ableton, and the DiGiTAL polyphonic synth also is available for $39 US via Ableton.
