Little Nobody Get Away From It All (Justin Robertson remix) [Hypnotic Room Special Edition] The propaganda hype from Hypnotic Room HQ... “It promises an escape that sounds anything but idyllic, as terse robot voices intone the title phrase over stuttering, minimalist break beats… a leftfield electronic delight that’s well worth getting hold of.” Thus assessed journalist Chris Downton in a glowing review that appeared last year in the pages of esteemed music mag, 3D World. The subject? Little Nobody’s iconic (and often equally iconoclastic) track, ‘Get Away From It All’. A year later, we asked Justin Robertson to remix the work, counting on his experience rebooting Bjork, Happy Mondays, Fatboy Slim, Luke Slater, Ben Mill and Felix Da Housecat, and thinking that the mix-master would have an absolute field day here – which he apparently did, snapping up the invitation without hesitation, giving the ingredients a good hard shake, and coming back with a mind-bending, cool, supremely innovative concoction that stunned everybody. FEEDBACK FROM PEOPLE FAR MORE WORTHY THAN ME: (meaning I'm so chuffed I have to share it!) "The Original mix is filthy!" Orlando Voorn "Original is a nice and submerging tune, wicked when the kick drops in!" Luke's Anger "Really cool sound, this is the sort of tune that would make my night if dropped the right way in a set. Really playful vibes to rock the f**k out to..." Bill Hunter (BeatGeek Records) "Deep and dark techno in original mix. Whow!!" Satoshi Matsumoto (DJ Inkling) "That Justin Robertson remix is very nice." Steve Law (Zen Paradox) "Solid track!" Captain Funk (Japan) "Original has a great fat sound. I like it!" DJ Warp (Japan) "I like the original, and the JR remix rocks also." Dave Tarrida "Robertson’s production is 1st class here and the 2009 version of the original is just filthy!" Ben Mill (Bitch Shift) "Wow, this is nice! I love what Justin did to the original track." Andrez replied to Andrez's topic in Techno & Minimal
Hey, thanks, since original mix is mine! Nice feedback. Shame you don't dig Pulsinger's mix, tho' - I love it. -
Ha Ha Ha ...are you kidding, mate? I'm not a fan of Beatport at all; in fact the label I run myself, IF? Records, deliberately doesn't go through them! Juno Download, on the other hand, are cool dudes.

This baby's the latest from Veronica du Lac - with a rather sizzling remix by Bill Youngman. Sample sounds here: https://www.beatport.com/en-US/html/content/release/detail/183519/because_it_pays_so_thin_bill_youngman_remix PROPAGANDA BOMB: "Veronica du Lac brings together Andrez Bergen (Little Nobody) and Kana Masaki (DJ Kana Kani) over in Tokyo, Japan, a collaborative pairing that pushes the perimeters of contemporary minimal directions by introducing orchestral tune-up flourishes, robotic vocals, tinkering sound frequencies, and a Green Velvet kick, to earth-shattering effect. Getting Bill Youngman in on the remix was something both Andrez and Kana aspired toward, and the Berlin-based Tresor veteran (and frequent Tobias Schmidt collaborator) has here let down neither: His remix is true to the intent of the original, then sears its way into the psyche in completely unexpected, lurching, mind-bending machine-made ways. It’s so glorious, it aches. Think techno made in the 22nd Century and you’re only part-way there." Etc.

VARIOUS MELBOURNE ARTISTS Zeitgeist: Melbourne 1995 [iF095] May 2009 marks the 14th anniversary since the first ever IF? release, IF001: the inaugural Zeitgeist compilation of way cool and happening 1995 Melbourne artists, including Voiteck, FSOM and Zen Paradox, compiled by label boss Andrez. We felt it needed to get out there again, as an archival reference as much as for the dateless quality of this work - so, here it is again, not touched-up at all, originally as it appeared almost a decade and a half back re-released in all its glory... well, minus the vinyl, CDs and artwork, but with a brand-spanking new catalogue number. And there’s that Thomas P. Heckmann remix. CHECK OUT SAMPLE SOUNDS AND/OR BUY ONLINE HERE: http://www.junodownload.com/ppps/products/1429405-02.htm TRACKLIST 1 TDM Printerex (7:02) 2 TR-Storm Rise (11:57) 3 Sonic Voyagers Beyond The Infinite (Warp Cruise Remix) (6:44) 4 FSOM Welcome (Thomas P. LITTLE NOBODY 'COMPULSION' (ORIGINAL MIX + LUKE'S ANGER REMIX) hroom-se007 This baby's out online today, so without further ado, here's the press-statement propaganda blurb thingy from Hypnotic Room Special Edition (apologies in advance!): Reared in Melbourne, Australia, in the early ’90s on a steady Detroit diet of Underground Resistance, Jeff Mills, Robert Hood and Suburban Knight at a string of underground raves, Little Nobody - based in Japan since 2001 - never quite forgot those essential roots. So it really should come as no surprise that his brand new single ‘Compulsion’ is a shade nostalgic 15 years on and perhaps unwittingly channels all these essential people - then segues the flashback Detroit techno moment into a mesmerizing contemporary riff that clicks superbly. In a fit of equally canny thinking, Little Nobody enlisted current tech-funk wunderkind, Luke’s Anger - of Tigerbass Records fame, the label run by Kid606 - to do the brilliantly cut-up, eclectic, funked-up glitch-mix here that’s so 2009 rather than 1994. “I had a bash at it, and it all flowed really nicely,” Luke quipped, straight after finishing his version. 01. Compulsion (Luke's Anger Remix) 02. Compulsion (Original Mix) LISTEN IN, SAMPLE SOUNDZ, AND/OR BUY THE BUGGERS ONLINE HERE: http://www.elektraxmusic.com/hroom-sp007/ FEEDBACK: “I like the track, nice and slow.” BEN PEST (Bonus Round/The Black E, with Cristian Vogel) “Very UR for sure.” STEVE STOLL (NovaMute/Djax-Up-Beats/Proper N.Y.C.) “Definitely on the old school buzz, reminiscent of Suburban Knight.” DAVE TARRIDA (Tresor/Sativae/Missile Records/BPitch Control) “Very cool track!! You have to do that one on vinyl!!” PATRICK PULSINGER (Disko B/Cheap/Compost Records/Sublime Records) “For some reason, it reminds me of the Art Of Noise. I like the track.” ANTHONY SHAKIR (International DJ Gigolo/Disko B/Transmat/430 West) VIDEO-CLIP (ORIGINAL MIX) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6R5F4PK0O6E LUKE'S ANGER INTERVIEW @ FUN IN THE MURKY http://www.fun-in-the-murky.com/mt/2009/04/lukes-anger-a-tasty-little-roller-interviewed-up.html

Here at the sleepless home of IF? Records HQ we have three brand new releases online from 15 March, to (accidentally) celebrate the third month of the year, and we definitely think these are amongst some of our best releases ever. Then again, we always do. The first 2 of these, by KODA and E383, are solid, innovative techno - Melbourne style and Scottish style, by way of Glasgow, respectively. Simple as that, really. Think futuristic, dark, and stomping, with an acid lick or three: KODA - INDIX/REMIXES EP remixes by BITCH SHIFT, LITTLE NOBODY, SON OF ZEV + ENCLAVE [iF071] Check out the sounds here: http://www.junodownload.com/ppps/products/1403351-02.htm E383 - RADION EP [iF055] Check out the sounds here: http://www.junodownload.com/ppps/products/1403354-02.htm The third release is a new one from Little Nobody, in which he quite clears wears on his sleeve both his affection for 1980s computer games and a love of kitsch B&W ‘50s sci-fi classics, in a ramshackle, relatively abridged journey that pastes together dub, breaks, techno, house and hip-hop with an array of suitably silly samples. Yum: LITTLE NOBODY - KAPITAN "L" [iF070] Check out the sounds here: http://www.junodownload.com/products/1403352-02.htm INTERVIEWS WITH THESE ARTISTS KODA http://www.fun-in-the-murky.com/mt/2009/03/koda-made-in-melbourne.html E383 http://www.fun-in-the-murky.com/mt/2009/03/e383-scalar-field-in-quantum-field-theory.html LITTLE NOBODY http://www.elektraxmusic.com/disquo-robota/ VIDEOCLIP FOR ALL HUMANOIDS MUST NOT ESCAPE:
