  1. Not sure if it is of any interest but i just put together a lighting package that offers great value. http://www.productiongear.com.au/collections/frontpage/products/led-lighting-package Happy to organise additional discounts for ADJF members.
  2. Hazer is better if you want it running all night, but kids do like the novelty of the big cloud of smoke. You can always have a fan next to the smoke machine to help disperse the cloud if its a problem. Defiantly go for the Martin magnum range not the cheap no name brands that wont last as long. I have excess stock of magnum 650s for $227 or 850s for $475
  3. I guess it comes down to a matter of opinion. I have heard HK products sound great. But RCF and FBT are also good options too, although I too have also heard these brand sound tinny and ear piercing. Im sure that most people have heard good and bad sounds from all brands, it comes down to how they are being used and the experience of the operator. Obviously the best bet for anyone wanting to buy any sound system is to listen to the different options with the type of music they will be using them for. It would be event better to hear different brands side by side but thats not always an option.
  4. Sennheiser HD25
  5. Again go with a smoke machine and some LED lighting effects. The cheaper brands of smoke machines can break easily, generally because the heating components are not as good quality. But the good brands like Martin, do sell affordable entry level products like the magnum 650 and 850. Don't want to sound like im spamming but if you do want a good deal on these then let me know and we will sort out a discount on our online store.
  6. Im happy to do a deal on any of the Martin/Jem products. I think i have a heap of Magnum 650 & 850s in stock that i need to get rid of. All brand new.
  7. Be careful about cheap brands of truss, especially Chinese stuff. Global truss is about the only decent Chinese products around and they are tested and rated in Australia to Aus Standards by DQ. The last thing you want is to go to ebay or somewhere that sells cheap truss brands from china that are not up to standard. If your going to be rigging off them then the last thing you want is to put someone at risk. I would look for second hand Global truss or Eurotruss.
  8. Truss on winch ups works but i prefer vertical truss on baseplates as it looks a bit more appealing, depends on the job really.
  9. I guess it depends on which model, HK generally are quite good, sure they are not the highend pro brands but they do very well in the mid range that they are priced at. This particular speaker system is quite small with small drivers, so it is naturally going to lack a bit of mid range but im surprised they would be tinny if running with the subs. Obviously it also depends on the operator and the mix and how hard you are driving them but these speakers are pretty decent for smaller scale applications. The large HK boxes are much better and i would say good value for the price range. Obviously your high end brands like Nexo, Adamson, EAW, D&B are going to be the ones delivering the best sound, but thats at a huge cost.
