  1. Saturday 6th of July sees the long awaited return of THE ASTON SHUFFLE to Chinese Laundry; throw into the mix LIGHT YEAR, Gemellini and the MOTORIK crew and you have the makings of one hell of a night. The Aston Shuffle really need no introduction, having played at every major festival & club across the Country. They’ve recently cracked the US and had a beatport #1 single with Tommy Trash, Sunrise (Won't Get Lost) on Axwell’s label. Light Year, the man behind the massive Single “Moderation” which is a Laundry anthem, recently left Aus to conquer the overseas EDM scene and from all accounts is doing us all very proud - he is in Sydney this July back to perform a 3 hour set in the Cave. Full Line Up Laundry The Aston Shuffle DJ’s Gemellini Katie Valentine Wrecks Cave Light Year (3 Hour set) Motorik Crew Sand Bar Fingers DJ C-Bu King Lee Doors Open 9pm Drink Specials from 9pm til 11pm The Aston Shuffle THE ASTON SHUFFLE: In the early stages of their career just a few years ago, the boys chalked up serious respect as DJs, remixers, and producers-to-watch. Signed to Ministry of Sound, For Everyone was their first release, an inclusive and instant dance floor weapon led by a vocoder hook that soon became a bit of a signature for their sound. After a string of more club chart-storming single releases and remixes, and milestones such as being crowned #1 DJs in Australia by the inthemix50, the boys turned their focus to their debut album release. Seventeen Past Midnight was the perfect introduction to the Shuffle's versatile sound, best described as emotive electronic pop. It was modestly successful commercially (peaking at #1 in the iTunes Electronic Chart), but more so served to establish them as the next wave of Australia's emerging electronic elite. Now the boys emerge from a solid year in the studio to present the first taste of the new album, the anthemic single Can't Stop Now. Official video and remixes coming soon, working towards an album release in 2013. https://soundcloud.com/theastonshuffle http://www.facebook.com/theastonshuffle?fref=ts http://www.youtube.com/user/mrastonshuffle LIGHT YEAR: Light Year was created many aeons ago in a celestial orb east-side of Sydney, deep in the back-garden of Australia. The release of the ‘Night/Vision’ EP in 2010 brought the now cult classic LY track ‘Sex Education’ to the world’s attention and was eagerly played out, happily edited and highly recommended by Soulwax, Erol Alkan, Tiga and Mr Oizo. That was only the start, for the release of ’5 Girls’ 6 months later was met with an even greater reception. The EP received a thorough tanning from deejays all over the world including revolving on the wheels of steel on BBC Radio 1. Light Year has also accumulated a serious amount of remix work over the last year with the likes of Bagraiders, Surkin, ZZT, Alex Gopher, Classixx & Feadz requesting the unique LY re-twist touch. 2011 has also brought jaunts of both Europe and America, both continents playing host to over a dozen packed out club soirees. Upon returning home LY performed a run of sell out gigs nationally including Splendour In The Grass and Parklife to celebrate the ‘5 Girl5 Remixed’ release, which featured handiwork from Strip Steve, Harvard Bass, Alex Gopher, and more. With two EPs and two continental club tours under the belt, Light Year is now forward thinking in a large vortex of momentum. Winds are whispering news of a massive new single release before 2011 comes to an end with more national and international touring to follow. Stay close don’t fear as this is a new beginning, a Light Year 2.0, an LY renaissance and so the future is only Light Years away. 2. We know this announcement will have answered a few prayers! Friday 5th July CULPRATE is Making his long awaited trip down under with MC MAKSIM - Bass fans will rejoice at finally getting to see this man in action Plus we also have NZ’s Misfits Of Zion making a Chinese Laundry debut Full Line Up Laundry Culprate & MC Maksim (UK) Misfits Of Zion Blackmale Ocean Cave – Hosted by THE WALL Brown Bear Hatch Hubble Floth vs Prescription Only - BIO – Culprate Culprate’s musical intuition started at the age of just 13 when he decided to learn the guitar. By the age of 15, Culprate’s passion and creativity really came into bloom as he was introduced to electronic music, and of course how to produce it, at college. From then on it was simply a matter of time before his driven persona and growing production skills resulted in mind blowing anthems, tearing their way through clubs around the world. Having established various releases on various record labels, the time has come for Culprate to gain some real direction. The 5 Star EP via Inspected Records marks a new era for Culprate. Aptly named, the EP is massively anticipated, and has already gained the support from the likes of KOAN Sound, Gemini & Skrillex. Admittedly, Culprate's releases have always been a tad sporadic, but the 5 Star EP is certainly the result of careful planning and meticulous attention to detail. It's fair to say that Culprate is a household name in the underground world of dubstep. However, he is far from content, admitting recently he would love to get his hands on some hardware to take his production to the next level. And with influences ranging from Squarepusher to Amon Tobin, only Culprate could tell you what sort of production the future holds. But from what we’ve seen already, we know it’ll be good. http://www.facebook.com/culprate https://soundcloud.com/culprate Misfits Of Zion MISFITS of ZION (MOZ) are a production duo from Australasia pushing the envelope and making Bass Heavy music! Although they’ve only been together as MISFITS OF ZION for a short time, they have collectively been producing bass music for over a decade. http://www.misfitsofzion.com/ http://www.facebook.com/misfitsofzion?fref=ts https://soundcloud.com/misfitsofzion

The track was also selected as Zane Lowe’s “Next Hype” track on BBC Radio 1. Xilent was nominated as “Best Newcomer Producer” by Drum and Bass Arena Awards in 2011. He is currently signed toAudioPorn Records. Originally from Warsaw (Poland), Eryk produced his first bits at the age of nine, when he was introduced to the Propellerhead Rebirth RB-338 synthesizer set. From then on, he tended to diversify his sound from techno, through breakbeat, finally to find his place in drum and bass, influenced by artists like DJ Rap, Future Cut, Calyx and Concord Dawn. Throughout that time he also found himself playing the drums in a few hardcore punk bands like Fast Forward. Many of his digital releases have seen the light of day hitting the top drum’n’bass charts on TrackItDown, one of which was rated “one of the biggest tracks of 2009 without a shadow” and even a “drum’n’bass anthem” – (‘Terminal’, Ammunition Rec., rated by TrackItDown). Xilent spent the next three years in Edinburgh (Scotland), where he studied Software Engineering at University, and where he became a member of international labels such as Beta Recordings managed by John B himself, Ammunition Recordings, Mindtech Recordings and more while DJing throughout Europe, supporting acts like Spor. In December 2009 Xilent played for the first time live in his home country, Poland (Łódź). 13. Saturday the 15th of June Chinese Laundry hosts to two extremely hot Sydney acts -WHAT SO NOT and LANCELOT. Headlining the Laundry is What So Not - the brainchild of skyrocketing electronic act FLUME, and flaming dj rockett EMOH INSTEAD. This duo has been causing quite a stir and gaining the attention of some pretty serious international acts. The crew from Mantra Collective will be taking care of things in the Cave with help from deep house maestro Lancelot. WHAT SO NOT: Hailing from the sandstone bedrock that is Sydney, this duo (one half skyrocketing electronic act FLUME, one half flaming dj rockett EMOH INSTEAD) is the fresh face Australia's beloved 'Sweat it Out' & voice of the ADD generation. Released in Mid November 2011, their debut 4 track EP '7 Dollar Bill' caused quite a stir; with Switch, Bag Raiders, Sinden, Boys Noize & countless others all on board for this new sound. 2012 has seen an onslaught of epic remix's from the pair. Most notably their mix of Major Lazer's 'Get Free'. Gaining the attention of Flosstradamus, Nero & Diplo himself, their future bass rework scored them official 12" Vinyl release on Mad Decent/Downtown. With the who's who of EDM dropping their tunes on BBC Radio 1 & every major festival around the globe, don't be surprised if you see the WSN boys coming to a town near you. LANCELOT: Lancelot - is the new project from 22 year-old Sydney producer Lance Gurisik. Formerly writing and producing black-hole sized electro as AEONS, Lancelot’s new tunes are aimed squarely at today’s club underground. For the past 4 years Lance has composed orchestral music while studying at the elite Sydney Conservatorium of Music. But after hours, Lance snuck down into the faculty recording studios, laying down a clutch of well-regarded, official remixes for artists including Matt Corby, New Navy (Future Classic), Toucan, Fabian, Penguin Prison, Sparkadia (Ivy League), Faker (EMI), Tim and Jean (Universal) and Fallulah (Sony DE) plus three original tunes for the We Can Dance EP. With a freshly framed graduation certificate and overgrown haircut to boot, Lancelot is plunging headlong into the deep-end of Australia's club scene. With a fetish for analogue gear, Lance deftly melds classical theory and structures with his own take on modern house styles. The result is an EP both chin-strokers and fluoros can get down to. Lancelot's debut 'We Can Dance EP' has just been released worldwide on LA-based label Binary (Fabian, Keenhouse, Nightwaves). Hernan Cattaneo is that special breed. Across his three decade journey through music, the legendary South American DJ has lived his life through the music that inspires him; inspiring thousands of electronic music lovers across the globe in the process. As a respected label owner and producer, Cattaneo’s creative output remains as plentiful as ever. In just two years, his Sudbeat label has risen up as a leading light in melodic electronic music – regularly releasing material from names like Guy J, Henry Saiz, Nick Warren and Danny Howells. Hernan’s own tracks have provided other highlights in the label’s growing discography, with the Argentinean electronic music ambassador currently working on many studio projects. Sharing these sounds – and those that inspire him – is at the heart of Hernan’s musical mission and is something he achieves through his relentless touring schedule. A resident at the UK’s longest running weekly event The Gallery @ London’s Ministry of Sound, Hernan’s DJ passport is stamped with the most respected dance events on the planet. From Serbia’s Exit to Las Vegas Electric Daisy Carnival, Spain’s Monegros to Holland’s Dance Valley, just about every major dance event has been graced by Hernan’s expertly weaved DJ journeys. Blessed with a deeply ingrained knowledge of house music and its many electronic roots, Hernan’s own DJ journey can be traced back to the mid-80s in Buenos Aires. Fascinated by pioneering synth-pop and post-punk bands like Depeche Mode and New Order, Cattaneo soon became consumed by imported 12”s from the likes of Frankie Knuckles, Derrick May and Inner City. Before long, the young music lover’s instinctive desire to DJ and share this new found love of Chicago and Detroit based sounds had lead him to his first – and now legendary – residency at Buenos Aires Clubland. Clubland became the epicentre of Argentina’s burgeoning dance scene and Hernan rose up as its spiritual leader. It is here where he earned the respect – and friendship – of legendary DJs like John Digweed, Sasha, and – most significantly – Perfecto boss Paul Oakenfold, who invited Cattaneo to join him on Perfecto. With the window of global opportunity opened, the Argentinean ambassador impressed at every turn. Club giants Cream soon recruited Cattaneo as their South American resident and were impressed enough to install him as international resident at Cream Liverpool & Ibiza. Rapidly gaining a taste and skill for the larger stage, Hernan soon followed with appearances at festivals like Nevada’s legendary Burning Man as well as key debuts at European institutions like Homelands, Bedrock, Pacha and Fabric. By the time, Hernan had mixed Perfecto’s first international mix CD – South America volume – he was confirmed as one of those rare DJs able to transform the DJ set into a true art form. Each individual set became a complex voyage through genres, emotions and sound. Both a true DJs DJ and a people’s favourite, Hernan’s popularity has spiralled in the years since. Now respected as one of electronic music’s true legends, Cattaneo stands proud as a DJ, producer and ambassador of the highest pedigree. From John Digweed’s standard bearing Bedrock imprint to Manchester´s Hacienda Records or the legendary Ministry of Sound, a host of electronic music’s most pioneering labels have all called on Hernan’s studio skills at some point over the past years. He is also one of a select breed of DJs to have enjoyed more than a decade in the DJ Magazine Top 100 poll. Known for his love of all music, regardless of genre, Hernan’s unique ability to weave stories from sounds are also responsible for some of the most celebrated mix CDs of recent years. Back in 2005, it spoke volumes on Hernan’s rising stock that he was hand-picked to succeed DJ legends like John Digweed, Deep Dish and Sasha on the aptly named Masters series. Seizing the opportunity, Hernan’s debut marked him out as a legend in his own right. Widely loved and acclaimed, his individual mix shifted seamlessly through genres and was coloured with both the rich seam of melody and lush lulling groove that his fans have come to love and know him for. In the year since, he has followed with four more mix CDs for the globally renowned Renaissance – including their 50th ever album in 2009 and his acclaimed 2010 album ‘Parallel’, which featured no less than 12 of his own productions and remixes. For the many thousands of music lovers that lap up their sounds the world over, these CDs provide a perfect snapshot of what Cattaneo is all about. It’s that human connection that drives Cattaneo further through music. And whether he’s taking crowd on an epic journey at festivals like Coachella, Exit and Creamfields or beaming his sounds across the globe through his weekly podcast and radio show on Delta FM 90.3, Buenos aires,he is able to be inspired and inspire in equal measure. Bio – Stimming Few people bring a truly original sound to house music. At a relatively young age, Hamburg’s Martin Stimming did just that, demonstrating a sophisticated yet accessible sound that’s beyond his years. Two years after hooking up with Solomun’s Diynamic Music, his 2008 breakthrough hit Una Pena made the electronic world sit up and take notice, and before long acclaimed labels like Freerange, liebe*detail, Buzzin’ Fly, Green and Poker Flat were snapping up his work. 2009 saw him release his immaculate debut album Reflections to great acclaim, cementing his reputation as one of the most exciting new producers of his generation. His second album, Liquorice, eschews the normal kick-clap/snare template by and large to explore more interesting and progressive territories, but always with that trademark magpie-like sense of texture, emotion and discovery. His productions are filled with a multitude of his own unique, charismatic field recordings, and he never uses the same sample more than once. 2010 saw him pick up an award for Best Newcomer at the Ibiza DJ Awards, following on from his live show (Stimming doesn’t DJ) stunning the crowds at the island’s legendary Pacha, and the finest danceries around the world – from Berlin’s Panoramabar to Sao Paulo’s D-Edge, Brussels’ Fuse, London’s fabric and Paris’ Rex, and plenty more beyond. Remixes for the likes of Sascha Funke, Claude VonStroke, Marc Romboy & Stephan Bodzin and Robert Babicz to name but a few have further spread his influence amongst the discerning house and tech community, and cemented his reputation as one of the scene’s most exceptional producers. Clearly, Martin Stimming is a precious talent indeed. But then again, not everyone loves liquorice…

  21. Friday 7th June we are very excited to host one of the most exciting names in Bass Music at present NEON STEVE .. the buzz and hype around this guy is huge at the moment & Sydney will finally get their chance to see why ! Chinese Laundry & Regrooved in Conjunction with Outnow Agency & Ghetto Funk are at the forefront of what’s hot in the dance music scene, showcasing a mash-up style that encompasses the sounds of Hip-hop, Breaks, House, Glitch, Trap, Moombahton, Dubstep, Drum & Bass and everything in between. It’s all served up with an extra-large helping of party time funk and a regular rotation of some of the nation’s best turntable technicians, MC’s and live acts. Having gained the respect of club goers all over Australia, sponsors such as Jagermeister & Skullcandy have been only too happy to get behind the Regrooved banner and help make the parties that much more memorable. NEON STEVE (Canada) They say nice guys finish last but that certainly isn’t the case for one of Western Canada’s most talked about DJ/Producers; Neon Steve. This peer-declared nice guy has jumped ahead of the game and is quickly showing why he’s held down top spots on Beatport, Juno, Hype Machine and Soundcloud hot charts, taken top spots in DJ Challenges in addition to being voted locally as the best Electronic producer in 2012. Comfortable rinsing out everything from Future Bass to Drum and Bass, Neon Steve has developed a reputation for playing high energy sets that blend and twist conventional genres. His production ranges in tempos but he’s most at home working on bass music full of low end frequencies. Signing official to Bombstrikes in 2012, his production and remix work is widely talked about and has seen him working alongside some of the biggest and best known bass artists in EDM. Remixes credits include Datsik & Bare, The Beekeepers, Rico Tubbs, Mooqeee, Herbgringer and Excision & Downlink (x2), the latter of which sat at the top of Beatport's Top 10 Dubstep chart for well over a month and was licensed to a Ministry of Sound Compilation. Besides remixes, Neon Steve's original releases have been charting themselves. Many of his releases on Bombstrikes, including two vinyl releases, toped Juno charts as best sellers and his original track, Got This Feeling taken from his Feeling EP released in 2012, was featured in MixMag as Tune of the Month. 2012 saw Neon Steven touring Europe, UK and Canada but he'll be jetting even further with tours of Australia, New Zealand, UK, Europe, Canada and the US slated for 2013. Already well known for his 2012 festival sets, including many major Canadian festivals appearances at places like Shambhala (Fractal Forest), Neon Steve continues to show why he's one of Canada's most talked about DJ/Producers. Never slowing down and always forward thinking, Neon Steve is not an artist you've heard the last of. With 2013 looking to propel him ahead, Neon Steve is well on his way injecting a bit of brightness amongst some of bass music’s brightest stars.
