Fast-forward to 2016 and Play It Down (the label responsible for releasing it) is about to released Label Mates 001 compilation, the first in a series from Play It Down which will be using the label’s back catalog of 15 years of legendary house music A&R’ed by label boss Jesse Rose to create a new compilation series. To wet your appetite the label has unloaded a fresh edit from LA-native Brillstein who’s delivered a fresh take on DOC:HOOK’s 2013 banger ‘Jacking Dogs’. Brillstein keeps the canine samples intact whilst crafting his edit into a dancefloor destroyer utilising undulating basslines against the doggie samples and never-ending synth stabs.
