Vitalic returns to his very best with ‘Film Noir’

Vitalic is nothing if not diverse. His discography over the past 10 years has touched on various points of the electronic music spectrum – at all times delivering quality over quantity.

This is evident on his latest release, the Film Noir EP. The two track effort shows his willingness to perfectly execute two different ideas that reside in the same musical ‘ballpark’ if you will. ‘Ooey’ (featured on our blog a few months back) is a somewhat playful, bouncy and ridiculously addictive electronic treat.

‘Film Noir’, on the other hand, is a brooding techno stunner aimed squarely for club play. The track chugs along with various bleeps, static drones and an omnipresent cowbell – before completely dropping out to silence and unleashing a slamming kick drum made for peak-time dancefloor destruction.

Vitalic has delivered a fantastically solid release that, though only two tracks in length, has a very high replay value. One of the strongest packages of the year no doubt!
