Is this 17-second audio clip a leaked Daft Punk track?

Could a 17-second clip uploaded to Soundcloud from User19972001200420132019 be a bonafide new Daft Punk track?

Probably not, but that hasn’t stopped the Daft Punk Reddit discussing the track and its origins at length for the last 24 hours — and the conclusion they’ve come to is it might actually be real.

Apparently, the source hasn’t been identified yet but the mods do believe they may know who it is and they also believe the way it was delivered to them is similar to previous credible leaks.

And finally, it’s the way it sounds, there’s a 303 front and centre with a Daft Punk-like vocoder — but that’s not hard to mimic.

The last time Daft Punk announced an album – 2013’s Random Access Memories – it was at Coachella and they did it with short snippet — could this clip be something similar, perhaps for an Ultra announcement this weekend? Highly unlikely.

Anyway, at least they’re not trying to sell us a Daft Punk-embossed toilet seat.
