About Me

  • Bio
I had my first go at djing on some cdj 1000's at a mates place and within the hour i'd made the decision to go on a mission to buy a set of decks asap NO MATTER WHAT!!!!.......Upon failing that mission i decided to go and see my mate Mr Westpac to borrow a few bucks and ended up with a semi-decent beginner setup of 2 Reloop RMP2's and a Numark X9 mixer. With a new daughter recently gracing us with her presence most of my attention has been drawn towards her but the hour or 2 a week i get to hit the decks has been well spent putting together the best electro house, big room, progressive and techno i can find. I try to keep the energy up through most of my sets, i like to see people shakin their ass so i provide some ass shakin music :P I don't care if it's new, old, a different genre or whatever, if it sounds good, i'll play it.
I haven't had the pleasure of taking my music to any clubs yet but hopefully that will change in the not too distant future if someone's brave enough to let me control their dancefloor for an hour or so :P

    2 x Reloop RMP2's, Numark X9 mixer, HDJ 2000's and some Pioneer SDJ-08's

  5. T'was a good night!! Your set was amaze dude! I spent about $80 over my budget
  6. Some decent tracks in there! A few tips, for example, at 11:47 where oi and move it to the drum are playing, try fading the track that's playing out down a little bit as the new track is building to give the effect of the one coming in getting a little louder and overpowering the old one towards the drop or the breakdown. And also right on 12:00 there i would have cut the old track out for that bit of the build or at least LPF'd the old track to give more oomph to the build for the drop on oi. And one last thing, try not letting your tracks mix for so long sometimes, once you learn your songs well you will know your breakdowns and builds and stuff but try cutting them out a little earlier if you know a breakdown is about to happen on a new track.
  7. So i did the opposite of what Mitch told me to do in my last topic and went all out again instead of a warm up set but i came across some love little dittys and couldn't go past putting them together Result - https://soundcloud.com/zoidburgg/the-communist-mixtape-1

  9. Yeah i think i'm just gonna have to talk to the mrs and have a lot of sober weekends out lol. I've been asking a few guys that dj regularly for any open spots but the people i'm asking i don't really know so i didn't think they'd help me out much. You guys pretty much confirmed what i was already thinking. Thanks heaps for the tips. Guess i'm just gonna have to get a hair cut and put on my finest suspenders and hair grease and hit the town i s'pose i could be doing worse things to chase a dream
  10. Dude that feedback is perfect and a frigging great piece of advice. I contemplated doing something like that but i don't actually know what is played early on at most clubs cause A. I am never usually in there too early. B. I am usually drunk and C. I haven't been out in months but i will talk to some mates in the industry and ask some advice and see if i can get something a little less peak time put together. Thanks!!!!!
  11.
