Couldn't find any artwork that I could legally distribute so I had to change the name). Didn't know where to post this, soz. Made a very, very, very rough draft for a tune today and I fel like an "inspirational" type speech will really add a lot to it. Something along the lines of this: Originally, I wanted to use Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's "I Have A Dream" speech but I felt like it was disrespectful to use such an amazing speech like that for a complextro type tune. Any suggestions would be appreciated

That's dope man, awesome vibes from this. Only complaint is that you can't really hear the vocals properly but then again you were doing this live so you couldn't really tweak things properly. Still, props to you man. Yeah, Youtube's a bitch. Can't really blame them, though. Viacom, Nintendo, Sega and SOPA were all up in their asses for copyright content uploaded by someone else so they're trying to keep everyone safe.

Well, tbh, I've never sold a song in a store so I don't know the how using images for covers professionally works. I just think that if you give the person who took or made the photo some cash, it wouldn't be such a problem when the your song gets big and the picture is everywhere. I'm probably not viewing this right, though. Also, I forgot to mention Flickr. Great looking photos and you can straight up search for images with creative licenses. Of course there are some rule to that (eg, non-commercial uses) so you'll have to check that yourself (and still credit them).

Well, if you're gonna sell your song to anyone at all, you should buy an image and it's rights so you can have full rights to use it. I'm just using that as an example for anyone who puts their song up online for free (and I also mentioned to credit them).

Hahaha, that's where I got my "M" logo from. As for my covers, I always try my best to make it at least relevant to the tittle of the track or the feeling you should get when you listen to it. I don't stay "consistent" as you say in this post, in fact, every background is different for each cover but I do try to visualise what they're hearing before they hear it. Tip: If you need to find a great background for your cover, search for whatever it is you want (eg. sunsets) and add "tumblr" at the end. As much as I dislike Tumblr, they always have some really nice photos in there. (Make sure you credit them, of course)

Nah, I never really had that problem. I always make music one structure at a time, whether I want to or not. I'd spend like 2 hours trying to make my intro sound perfect and at that point I'd be too lazy to keep moving on, even though I know what I want to do for the breakdown or the next section of the track. It's kinda annoying losing my vibe like that when I wanna keep working on my tune :'( Ah well, we all have different quirks when it comes to making music, haha
