On November 30th and December 1st, techno heavyweights Adam Beyer and Cirez D will take on a New York City warehouse for an incredible techno experience presented by New York’s, Teksupport. Adam Beyer is the founder of fan-favorite Drumcode Records and Cirez D is the techno moniker for dance legend Eric Prydz, who’s notorious for his HOLO shows, Pryda label and EPIC live experiences. Adam Beyer and Cirez D premiered their new b2b concept in Miami back in March to a sold out warehouse of 4,000 techno fans. The event easily topped our list of the best events during Miami Music Week 2018. The unbeatable, sweaty, warehouse atmosphere and heart-pounding visual experience was the epitome of techno excellence. Take a look back at the intro from the show in Miami earlier this year to get a taste of what you can expect: The production team behind Prydz’ EPIC shows has worked to create a unique experience reminiscent of our favorite European warehouse parties. Now they’re bringing the show to our hometown of Brooklyn, NY. For two nights, Brooklyn will once again become a techno haven while two of the biggest names in techno crash land on the city that never sleeps. Unlike other shows on this tour, Adam Beyer X Cirez D will throw down at an actual warehouse venue, and the party will go until 5AM in the morning, and New York’s TekSupport will deliver an unbelievable night out that you won’t soon forget. Teksupport leads world-class house and techno events in New York’s most invigorating venues. Tickets for Adam Beyer X Cirez D are completely sold out for both shows. Yes, they’re real and they’re spectacular: A new grindcore / death metal band named Grindfeld has formed to celebrate all things Seinfeld, and they’re releasing the awesomely titled EP, 5 Songs About Nothing, on November 23rd. The band is comprised of Joel Moore (Wretched) on guitars and bass, Jared Klein (Rivers of Nihil, The Undying) on drums, and Monte Barnard (Ex-Alterbeast, The Kennedy Veil, Fallujah) on vocals. As great as the EP title are the song names, including “The Contest”, “The Soup Nazi”, and “The Bizarro Jerry”. You can hear “The Contest” right now in the Bandcamp player below. A press release described the formation of the band as follows, “After what seems like a lifetime of repeat viewings, re-runs and falling asleep to the same laugh track over and over again, ex and current members of Wretched, Alterbeast, The Kennedy Veil and Rivers of Nihil decided there was more to this simple show about ‘Nothing’.” It continues, “Born out of a mutual love of Death Metal, comical observations, coffee and Hardcore, Grindfeld is a project built on the existential dread hidden just under the surface of daily life,” adding that the music is “Not for fans of: Kenny Bania, Nazis.” Grindfeld’s 5 Songs About Nothing EP can be pre-ordered via Bandcamp for only five bucks. Heck, that’s half the price of a big salad! This is the greatest thing to happen to Seinfeld musically since Jerry himself gave his seal of approval to rapper Wale’s Mixtape About Nothing. 5 Songs About Nothing by Grindfeld 5 Songs About Nothing Tracklist: 01. Lorde has been pretty quiet on social media since concluding her Melodrama world tour earlier this year. Now, however, she has returned to Instagram to point out the glaring similarities between her most recent stage design and that of Kids See Ghosts, the collaborative project of Kanye West and Kid Cudi, who made their live debut last night at Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival. Both stage designs featured a hydraulic, floating box that the artists performed from within, with lights casting long shadows to the back of the space. “I’m proud of the work I do, and it’s flattering when other artists feel inspired by it, to the extent that they choose to try it on themselves,” Lorde wrote. “But don’t steal — not from women or anyone else — not in 2018 or ever.” Check out images comparing the two performances, which were shared to Lorde’s Instagram story, below. it appears Lorde has seen Kanye’s new Kids See Ghosts stage pic.twitter.com/mqpFvn4nls — Joe Coscarelli (@joecoscarelli) November 12, 2018 Lorde has previously noted her affinity for Kanye West, calling him her “idol” and even covering the rapper’s “Love Lockdown” and “Runaway” during the Chicago stop of the massive Melodrama world tour. The duo also collaborated on “Yellow Flicker Beat” in 2014, which was featured on the The Hunger Games Mockingjay Pt. 1 soundtrack. Source

A special message for The Cult of Rezz and all her fans — Rezz Rocks is “definitely an annual thing.” The producer just jumped on Twitter, her primary method for communicating with her following, to confirm her show at Red Rocks is coming back next year and for the foreseeable future. Her sold out debut at the iconic venue last month was an absolute success, so it’s no wonder Rezz Rocks will return. “Next year, same spot,” she gleams in the post below. Words can’t express how excited we are for Rezz and everyone involved with her project. In a short time, she has exceeded expectations and gone above and beyond to deliver her fans incredible performances time and time again. Rezz Rocks was truly next level and we can’t imagine what kind of production she’ll mastermind for the next installment. Huge congrats to Rezz on this massively successful and now yearly show! It’s the story that took the rock world by storm on Friday: The L.A. rock act Threatin had fooled European venues into thinking the band had a big following, only to end up playing near-empty venues on its current “Breaking The World Tour”. Now, video footage has surfaced of the band playing one of those shows, with frontman Jered Threatin and company rocking out to no one in particular at their November 7th gig in Manchester, England, except for a photographer, and a couple dudes talking in the background, almost drowning out the band itself. The clip, uploaded by MetalSucks, can be seen below: The video footage is not the only new item to surface since the originally story broke on Friday. Now comes word from MetalSucks that Wikipedia moderators had debated deleting Threatin’s Wiki page after it was determined that much of the information had appeared to be unsubstantiated. Such observations included in the moderator discussion were that the Wiki page did not have “any reliable sources” and that it “all seems to be an elaborate promotional scheme”. As reported on Friday, Threatin booked an entire Europe tour based on an apparent strong social media presence — like having 38,000 Facebook fans and a large YouTube following — but it appears that most of those numbers were bought or fabricated. Their European concerts, which are scheduled through November 16th, have been attended by only a few people each. Source

Gesaffelstein has just given us a taste of his first new original music since 2013 and to say we are keen for the full track is a heavy understatement. If you hadn’t noticed we’ve been all aboard the Gesaffelstein hype train lately. With a bunch of teasers and signing to a major label, it seemed like new music was an inevitability and now here we are. On first listen it seems almost alien spec, something from outer space with distorted almost negative kicks, on the second listen though, one fan heard something a little different. The top comment on the Facebook post is of the snippet played backwards in entirety and the track almost seems to make more sense played that way. Whether this means this is an intro that gets reversed into the main chunk of the song, or it’s just a completely inverted tune, who knows? At this moment in time it’s all speculation, but what we can assure you is that it will bang. Check out both the original snippet and the reversed tune and tell us what you think the French Techno god has in store for us. Original Snippet: Played in reverse: Source

“If there’s anybody in here that feels they are going to be offended tonight, they need to leave, because it’s about to get freakier than a mother,” R. Kelly reportedly told a moderate-sized crowd as he took the stage at Tampa’s Yuengling Center, according to the Tampa Bay Times. As it would turn out, the self-admitted sexual abuser wasn’t kidding, as a new video from the show reveals him walking to the front of the stage to allow fans to towel off his sweat, which eventually leads to him leaning back to expose his crotch and encouraging fans to grab it. “When he got to Down Low (Nobody Has to Know), Kelly stepped all the way down to the floor of the pit, eventually kneeling out of view, completely surrounded by women,” the Tampa Bay Times reports. “Whatever happened down there, it ended with Kelly stumbling back on stage missing a shoe.” Watch an extremely disconcerting video of the scene below. Over the last year, Kelly has been besieged with accusations of sexual misconduct, the grooming of underage women, and imprisonment, leading his critics to launch a #MuteRKelly boycott. While the boycott was successful in getting Kelly’s music removed from streaming services, this weekend’s concert in Tampa is evidence Kelly still draws a decent crowd. Source

Ever the prolific one, Hutch Harris has returned with his debut solo album, Only Water, a mere seven months after disbanding The Thermals. Much like his former punk rock outfit, the release finds the singer-songwriter offering up punchy and chewy ditties, only without the distortion that’s framed his crunchy past. Longtime Thermals fans will likely think of 2010’s mellowed-out Personal Life as Harris exhibits a far more meditative personality on each of the album’s 10 tracks here. Those looking for a comfortable album for today’s sweater weather could hardly do better. Stream below via Bandcamp. Source

As we reported last week, Fugazi members Ian MacKaye and Joe Lally have reconvened to form a new band. The as-yet-untitled outfit, which is rounded out by McKaye’s wife, Amy Farina of The Evens (of which MacKaye is also a member), made its live debut last night, November 11th, during a food bank benefit concert in Washington, DC. While no video/audio footage has surfaced, the show provided a few key takeaways regarding the group and the possibility of new music. In a post accompanying an image of the trio (above), photographer Mike Maguire called the group a “new local @dischordrecords band.” Dischord Records, the label founded by MacKaye and fellow Minor Threat bandmate Jeff Nelson, also posted some professional photos to its Instagram account. Speaking to Consequence of Sound, Maguire noted “all songs [played] were new originals,” so signs seem to indicate that MacKaye’s new band will someday officially release new music via Dischord. Those in attendance at St. Stephen And The Incarnation Church have described the new band as a hybrid of Fugazi and The Evens. “I think it was a cool mix of what we love about their affiliated bands,” one concertgoer wrote on Instagram, “had the intricacies of evens, but now that J is providing some nice baz melody, it allowed for the semi angular guitar parts on that infamous white SG.” Another fan called their set a “killer punk show,” while someone else highlighted the group’s “very bass-driven” aesthetic. As for the band’s name, it’s still very much in the air. “Every band name has been taken, and they all have lawyers,” MacKaye was quoted as saying during the set. MacKaye also revealed that, despite their recent live debut, he, Lally and Farina have actually been “playing in a basement together for three years.” Check out some photo footage below. Source

MTV Networks has acquired the popular Snowglobe Music Festival. In a push towards the Live Events space, MTV hopes to expand it’s reach with the new acquisition. People are prone to wagering outrageous things in reward for material gain or possessions. If this isn’t immediately clear to you, think about the last time you were hungover and promising God you’d never drink again if only the pain would go away. Sound familiar? In that same vein, DJ Snake wagered on Twitter that if he won an NRJ Music Award this past weekend… he’d shave his head. Well, he won. Snake was up against David Guetta, Calvin Harris, and Kygo at the NRJ Music Awards for DJ of the Year (“NRJ” meaning “Nouvelle Radio des Jeunes,” or “new radio of the teens”). Si je gagne un NRJ Music Award ce soir , je me rase la tete. — DJ SNAKE (@djsnake) November 10, 2018 It’s now been two days, and the world waits… Will it be like when Dillon Francis waxed “ZEDD” into his chest and it was live streamed? They’ve been hinting at it, and now, Slipknot have officially announced that they will reissue their 2008 album, All Hope Is Gone, on December 7th, in celebration of the disc’s 10th anniversary. The re-release will pack reimagined artwork and a live bonus disc from the masked metal band’s 2009 performance at Madison Square Garden. For pre-order information, go here. Looking back at the making of All Hope Is Gone, frontman Corey Taylor tells Metal Hammer that the guys of Slipknot were at their “most fractious” while making that album, adding that, “nobody was talking to each other, everybody was going behind everybody’s back trying to make the album theirs.” Not that the tension was a bad thing. Former Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison says it actually helped the process. “The tensions are what made that record great,” Jordison said. “Everyone was completely on fire with emotions and being in different places, and you could see the lines in the sand, you could feel the concrete breaking a little bit.” “You could feel the band cracking,” Jordison added. “There was so much going on during that time that I think that’s what made the record so brutal. Everyone had some sort of tension to get out just to make it the heaviest record that we could.” The 'All Hope Is Gone' 10th Anniversary Edition will arrive December 7th featuring reimagined artwork and live bonus disk containing our 2009 headline set at Madison Square Garden. Stan Lee, creator or co-creator of characters Black Panther, Spider-Man, X-Men, The Mighty Thor, Iron Man, The Fantastic Four, The Incredible Hulk, Daredevil, Ant-Man and other characters, has died, a source told The Hollywood Reporter. Lee’s popularity within the current generation was no doubt bolstered by his numerous cameos in all of the films within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He became a modern-day icon, and sometimes meme, and real-life superhero to many young adults who grew up watching the new movies. Lee’s career in comics began in the 1950s when he created The Fantastic Four with Jack Kirby. And the rest, as they say, is history. “I used to think what I did was not very important,” he told the Chicago Tribune in April 2014. “People are building bridges and engaging in medical research, and here I was doing stories about fictional people who do extraordinary, crazy things and wear costumes. But I suppose I have come to realize that entertainment is not easily dismissed.” Lee was reportedly rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center this morning where he died. He was 95. This article was first published on Your EDM. Source: Stan Lee Dies at 95 Source

Stan Lee, the single greatest contributor to comic book culture and creativity in the history of the format, has died at the age of 95. According to TMZ, Lee was taken by ambulance to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles early Monday morning. He passed away a short time later. Born Stanley Martin Lieber on December 28th, 1922, Lee was responsible for most of the major Marvel Comics characters today known the world over, including Spider-Man, the X-Men, the Avengers, and more. His comic career began in 1939 when, at 16 years old, he was hired by his uncle, publisher Martin Goodman, as an assistant for what was then known as Timely Comics. His first brush with superhero writing was for a story called “Captain America Foils the Traitor’s Revenge” in May 1941’s Captain America Comics #3, in which the character’s trademark shield-throwing abilities were introduced. When editor Joe Simon and Lee’s future close collaborator artist Jack Kirby departed Timely in 1941, the 19-year-old Lee was made interim editor. However, his career was halted by World War II, when he enlisted as a member of the Signal Corps. He later wrote training films and manuals, gaining the rare military classification “playwright.” When he returned in 1945, his editing job at Timely was waiting for him, eventually leading to the editor-in-chief position until he took over as publisher in 1972. Through much of the ’40s and ’50s (at which time Timely became Atlas), war, horror, Westerns, and romance comics were the big sellers, while superhero stories were considered a dying breed. However, DC Comics revitalized the genre with its first super team, Justice League of America. Tasked by Goodman to create Marvel’s own squad of masked men and women, Lee took the advice of his wife, Joan, and went out on a limb with his stories. Instead of crafting characters in the ideal of the indestructible do-gooder, Lee and Kirby co-created a team of flawed, bickering, multifaceted heroes: The Fantastic Four. The group debuted in its own comic series in November 1961, launching Marvel Comics and what would become known as the Marvel Age. (Read: Ranking: Every Marvel Movie and TV Show from Worst to Best) Over the next decade, Lee and Kirby would create iconic characters like Hulk, Thor, Iron Man, and the X-Men; Lee also is credited with coming up with Daredevil alongside artist Bill Everett, and both Spider-Man and Doctor Strange with Steve Ditko. The Avengers, Silver Surfer, Doctor Doom, Magneto, Loki, the Falcon, Nick Fury, Ant-Man, Black Widow, the Inhumans, and dozens if not hundreds of other characters all owe their origins to Lee and his collaborators during the superhero revival of the 1960s. His heroes had relatable issues — Spider-Man had to wrestle with complicated romances as well as bad guys, the Hulk was a literal manifestation of Bruce Banner’s anxieties and rage — and his villains were morally as well as psychologically complex, expanding the idea of what a comic book could be and broadening their appeal. Not only did Lee revolutionize the type of heroes that wore capes and cowls, but the nature of the stories in which they were featured. His naturalistic approach to character extended to plot, with his heroes battling communism, political turmoil, and bigotry instead of just mad scientists attempting world domination. The X-Men, a group of genetic misfits hated and feared by the world at large, were essentially a metaphor for homophobia and racism. Lee created the first black character to maintain an integral supporting role with The Amazing Spider-Man’s Robbie Robertson; he and Kirby introduced what many consider mainstream comics’ first African superhero, Black Panther, in July 1966’s Fantastic Four #52. Lee was also partially responsible for bringing the idea of an interconnected universe of heroes and villains to the forefront, something that has recently overtaken movies thanks to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Other comics had featured crossover stories before, but Lee and his collaborators went to extra lengths to truly build a universe. Peter Parker might show up in the background of a Fantastic Four story, for example, or perhaps Daredevil would need to reach out to Doctor Strange for advice. With so many projects under his control, Lee invented what’s come to be called the Marvel Method of comic writing. He would pen an outline — often no more than a few sentences for close collaborators like Kirby and Ditko — off of which an artist would draw an entire book. Lee would then go back and add the dialogue and captions. The unique process often led to disputes about credit, but it also allowed for greater creativity in the way artists formatted a comic’s panels. Ditko famously took Doctor Strange in psychedelic directions, while Kirby explored surrealist pop art layouts in Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. They would even at times draw themselves into cameos in the books. Lee also was the first to include a credits splash page that gave recognition to inkers and letterers. His influence extended beyond the page, as well, as Lee fostered a community of fans and creators with his Stan’s Soapbox and Bullpen Bulletin pages. He would write in a friendly, humorous style that connected with his readership on a congenial level. As he would in his stories, he’d address activism and political issues of the day. He also coined his own nicknames like Stan “The Man” Lee and Jack “King” Kirby, as well as catchphrases like “Excelsior!,” “‘Nuff said,” “True Believer,” and the “No-Prize,” all terms that any comic fan is still familiar with even 50 years later. In a 1971 three-issue subplot featured in The Amazing Spider-Man #96-98, Lee challenged the long-standing Comics Code Authority (comic books’ now defunct self-regulation board). At the request of the US Department of Health, Education and Welfare, the story saw Peter Parker struggling to help his friend Harry Osborne through a pill addiction. The CCA refused to give its seal of approval to the issues because they depicted drug use, even though they did so in an anti-drug context. The issues were published without the CCA’s seal — something unheard of at the time. When the numbers proved sales weren’t affected, the agency restructured its own guidelines, allowing for more freedom in how comic book creators addressed serious real-world issues. Lee stopped writing comics on a monthly basis in 1972 when he took on the position of Marvel Comics’ publisher; he first was named president of the company but stepped down to remain more active in the creative process. In ’75, he narrated the Fantastic Four radio series and the Spider-Man: Rock Reflections of a Superhero record, and would go on to add his voice to any number of Marvel-related productions, from video games to animated movies. In 1977, he launched the Spider-Man newspaper strip alongside John Romita Sr. In the 1980s, Lee spearheaded Marvel’s move to Hollywood. Live-action TV shows like The Incredible Hulk and The Amazing Spider-Man had seen some success prior to Lee’s handling of the properties; he was responsible for later entries like the animated Spider-Man and Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends series, and the direct-to-video Captain America movie in 1990. That film would mark the first time Lee was given an executive producer credit, something he held for nearly every Marvel production from then until his passing. That includes most of the Marvel Cinematic Universe entries like Iron Man, The Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, Netflix’s The Defenders shows, and more, as well as other companies’ productions like X-Men, Spider-Man, The Runaways, numerous animated shows and movies, and more. He also cameoed in nearly every live-action Marvel movie to date, whether in the MCU or otherwise. Rumor has it he filmed a number of still unseen cameos before his death. (Read: The Best Celebrity Film Cameos from A to Z) In the later era of his career, he launched the Internet-based Stan Lee Media (which went under following illegal stock manipulation by co-founder Peter Paul) and POW! (Purveyors of Wonder) Entertainment. He continued creating new characters, occasionally returning to Marvel for one-off stories or special releases. He even reimagined some of the biggest names in DC’s catalog in a series of one-shots called Just Imagine… Lee founded The Stan Lee Foundation in 2010 to support programs addressing literacy, education, and the arts. He received a Hollywood Walk of Fame star in 2011, the American National Medal of Arts in 2008, The Life Career Award from the Saturn Award in 2002, and was inducted into The Will Eisner Award Hall of Fame in 1994. Throughout his life, Lee kept an approachable demeanor, always exuding a boyish wonder and appreciation for the fantastical. Simply by indulging his creative instincts and daring to go against the established norms, he co-created some of the most enduring and beloved characters in any form of entertainment. Few authors of any sort have an oeuvre as full of timeless works as Lee’s, the man who stoked wonder in the minds of readers over nearly six decades of writing, producing, and creating tales to astonish. Lee had suffered a number of health issues in the later years of his life. In 2012, he underwent surgery to insert a pacemaker. Last year, he battled pneumonia. There were also troubling allegations of elder abuse directed at his daughter, Joan Celia “J.C.” Lee, as well as his hired caretaker over the last year. Source

Al Jourgensen has never been afraid to speak his mind, and on Ministry‘s latest album, AmeriKKKant, the industrial music pioneer rails against President Trump, Republican policies, and more. Ministry are set to kick off a monthlong North American tour in support of their AmeriKKKant album on November 21st at The Warfield in San Francisco. The trek will make its way east before heading back to the West Coast to wrap up December 21st at the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles. Leading up to the tour, Jourgensen checked in with us to discuss the AmeriKKKant album, and with that, he shared his views on President Trump, the Antifa movement, the 2020 election, fellow Chicagoan Kanye West‘s visit to the White House and more. Read Part 1 of our interview with Al Jourgensen below, and stay tuned for Part 2, where he looks back at a classic Ministry album and more. On the first two songs of AmeriKKKant, “I Know Words” and “Twilight Zone”, sampling Donald Trump’s speeches You have to remember, when we wrote this was literally right when he got elected, and I know a con when I see one. So, we started out with [those songs] basically to get it out of the way, because this album is not about Trump. It has some things that directly relate to Trump, like the words “orange” in the lyrics. But basically, this album is much more about where we’re at as a society to elect somebody like a Donald Trump, and the kind of influence that social media has on the populous right now. We’ve just never seen anything like this in the advancement of human civilization. So, Donald Trump is just representative of a much more visceral problem within society, and it would be remiss for me not to touch upon his impact on society. But it’s an echo chamber. It’s an impact only in the sense that we demanded this sort of thing. So, what does that say about us as a people, as a society, as a country? Why did we put Donald Trump in [the White House]? Because it was relevant towards what’s going on in society. And I’ve considered the stuff I do basically myself holding up a mirror to the society that we’re living in, and I write about that. I mean it’s no different than Woody Guthrie writing about the depression in the 1930s. I’m sure if he had samples, he would have had samples of Herbert Hoover, you know what I’m saying? (laughs) On the AmeriKKant track “Antifa” The real snowflakes in this to me are the right wing. They go around bullying people and basically try to impose 1930s style fascism upon a society that’s open to anything, because of social media, you can pretty much sell anything. And then as soon as you fight back, it’s like “left wing mobs are gonna kill you” and all this bullshit we hear on mainstream media right now, and that’s not the case at all. Antifa, if you know the history of it, was basically formed in the late 1920 and early 1930s in Europe against people like Mussolini, Hitler, Francisco Franco, and others of that time. We’re going right back to the rise of fascism in the 1930s, here we are again. So, we’ve learned nothing and it’s time for this cycle to stop. Frankly, the planet doesn’t have any more time. As you know, we’re going to be growing fucking gills by the time of 2040 just to survive along the coast. This has to be eradicated once and for all. There’s never been a fascist government that ultimately led to the success of the people that they’re trying to govern. This is just fact. And so these are the things that I try to point out on this record, and Antifa has been given this bad rap, and yes, there’s bad actors in ANTIFA, people who just go out and look for the deerskin hat or somebody in a bomber jacket and [Doc Martens] and haul off and conk them just for looking that way. Those are not the people that really need to be in Antifa. But Antifa needs to stand up for left wing principles and Democratic principles, as opposed to fascist principles, and it all started in the 1930s, and here we are again. So that’s what that song’s about. On whether a Democratic candidate has a chance to beat Trump in the 2020 election It doesn’t matter what Democrat, as long as the Democratic platform is put up for vote in 2020, people are going to vote on what’s not going to kill them, like stripping medicare and abolishing Obamacare and tax cuts to the rich, and I can go on and on. People are just going to vote on dinner table issues in 2020, so it doesn’t really matter. It’s not a cult of personality. I don’t care if Michael Bloomberg runs, or Stormy Daniels’ lawyer Michael Avenatti runs, or an actual politician runs, or if I fucking run, except I can’t because I was born in Cuba, but the point being is that the actual policies are gonna be very popular in 2020. If you look at it strictly from a celebrity point of view, we don’t have anyone that can match Trump. Trump takes all the oxygen out of every room he’s in. That’s the way he’s lived his whole life, because when you’re born on third base with a silver spoon in your mouth, you just demand this kind of attention and loyalty, and there’s nobody to tell you that the world doesn’t work like that. So, here we are, with the cult of personality in the White House, and I don’t really think it’s gonna matter fucking one bit who the Democratic challenger in 2020. On Republican policies affecting our health care and other social safety nets For 40 years, Republicans have been trying to strip away our social safety-net platforms. So, if we’re so far in debt, then they squawk about how big the debt is, and they have to chip away at these social platforms. And then as soon as they get in power, they’ve raised the debt like they did with Reagan, like they did with both Bushes, and now what they’re doing with Trump, with the largest single yearly gain in our national deficit ever. So now, because they fucked it up and gave tax breaks to the rich, they want to strip away all the old people’s healthcare. And this is just the kind of shit that we’re dealing with. Instead, we’re talking about, “Trump said ‘horse face’ the other day, and then “Trump fucked a porno star” — who the fuck cares, man? They’re gonna be taking away your ability to live paycheck to paycheck if this continues. So, this is the kind of shit that’s on the [new Ministry] album, if you want to pick it apart. It’s not just some anti-Trump, let’s blast Trump because he’s funny looking, fat, and old, and says dumb things — this is not about that. On fellow Chicagoan Kanye West’s recent visit to the White House What do I fucking care what Kanye thinks? What should people care what I fucking think? It doesn’t fucking matter. What do you think? How’s this? Here’s two platforms: One of them says, you have a safety net after you’re 65, and you have health care. The other one says the millionaires are gonna get richer and don’t worry, they’ll take care of you. That’s basically about what it is. So, it doesn’t matter what the fuck Kanye or Taylor Swift or any other celebrity says, or me, for that fucking matter. People need to start doing their own fucking homework. Our thanks to Al Jourgensen for taking the time to speak with us. The wait is over — Malaa‘s Illegal Mixtape Vol. 2 is finally here, with 11 new productions so dangerous they should be outlawed. The masked wonder is back again for another round, this time enlisting in his high-regarded peers: Godamn & Crossnaders, Dillon Nathaniel, Bellecour, Adult Art Club, Malive, Lucati, and Matroda. Individually, they deliver threatening bass house of their own breeds and together they act as a massive force in in dance music. From the provocative party vibes put forth with “I Love Girls” t0 the thrashing house stabs of “Yali,” and through the driving, rave-friendly production heard with “Lungs,” the variety is on point. Still, there’s a common theme. It’s all about house music. Malaa’s own dance floor destroyers “Bling Bling,” “Cash Money,” and “Get Crunk” all make appearances on the Confession-released Illegal Mixtape Vol. 2. Plus, a steady burner “Testarosa” that radiates supreme warehouse energy. Listen here and get completely lost in this enthralling new release from Malaa and company. Like Mexico City and Stockholm before, new Swedish House Mafia posters have begun to appear in Tel Aviv and Liverpool. History tells us that show announcements in these cities are imminent, and fans likely won’t have to wait very long. Tel Aviv is considered the major party city in Israel, so it’s no surprise that SHM would announce a show there of all places. In the case of Liverpool, it serves as the location of one of the world’s largest music festivals, electronic or otherwise, Creamfields. Axwell and Ingrosso had already teased a Swedish House Mafia Creamfields set at the end of their performance at Creamfields earlier this year, so again, this one doesn’t come as a huge surprise. The current timer on Swedish House Mafia’s website ends Thursday, so we’ll see what comes of the posters then. Until that time, best keep a close eye on your own cities in case more posters pop up! For two decades, Pokémon has been one of the biggest entertainment franchises in the world, with a slew of video games, TV shows, card games, and animated movies entertaining kids and nerdy fans of all ages. Now, for the first time, we’re going to be given a live-action look at the world of the iconic pocket monsters in the new film Detective Pikachu. Sound silly? Well, hold onto your Jigglypuff, because the first trailer for the movie looks pretty damn fun. Walking through a world occupied by corporeal Pokémon is every gamer’s dream, and it looks like director Rob Letterman (Goosebumps) and his team of animators have really pulled it off. Ryan Reynolds stars as the voice of the title character, a Pika-sleuth just searching for someone who understands him. He finds that partner in Tim Goodman (Justice Smith), the 21-year-old son of a private eye, Harry Goodman. When Tim’s dad goes missing, he and his electrifying new pal set out on a journey to find the missing detective. They get some help from Lt. Detective Yoshida (Ken Watanabe) along with budding reporter Lucy (Kathryn Newton of Big Little Lies and Lady Bird) and her Psyduck sidekick. The trailer gives fans a live-action look at other beloved Pokémon, including Bulbasaur, Mr. Mime, Dodrio, Morelull, Jigglypuff, Greninja, and — oh yes — Charizard. Take a look below. Pokémon Detective Pikachu hits theaters May 11th, 2019. Below, find the complete synopsis and first poster for the film. The story begins when ace private eye Harry Goodman goes mysteriously missing, prompting his 21-year-old son Tim to find out what happened. Aiding in the investigation is Harry’s former Pokémon partner, Detective Pikachu: a hilariously wise-cracking, adorable super-sleuth who is a puzzlement even to himself. Finding that they are uniquely equipped to communicate with one another, Tim and Pikachu join forces on a thrilling adventure to unravel the tangled mystery. Chasing clues together through the neon-lit streets of Ryme City—a sprawling, modern metropolis where humans and Pokémon live side by side in a hyper-realistic live-action world—they encounter a diverse cast of Pokémon characters and uncover a shocking plot that could destroy this peaceful co-existence and threaten the whole Pokémon universe. “POKÉMON Detective Pikachu” also stars Justice Smith (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom) as Tim; Kathryn Newton (Lady Bird, TV’s Big Little Lies) as Lucy, a junior reporter following her first big story; and Oscar nominee Ken Watanabe (Godzilla, The Last Samurai) as Lt. Yoshida. Directed by Rob Letterman (Goosebumps, Monsters Vs. Aliens), the POKÉMON Detective Pikachu creative filmmaking team includes two-time Oscar nominated director of photography John Mathieson (The Phantom of the Opera, Gladiator), production designer Nigel Phelps (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Lies) and Oscar-winning editor Mark Sanger (Gravity). Visual effects are by Moving Picture Company (Wonder Woman) and Framestore (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2). Source

According to Alex Podd, artistic director and CEO of The Shed, the live show will mark Björk’s first-ever production created with theatrical collaborators. In a statement, Björk said she is preparing “my most elaborate stage concert yet, where the acoustic and digital will shake hands, encouraged by a bespoke team of collaborators.” She’ll be accompanied on stage by Viibra, a seven-piece female Icelandic flute ensemble, as well as a harpist and a percussionist. Further details, including ticketing information, will be announced before year’s end. Björk released her most recent album, Utopia, in November 2017. Source

Coming from someone who’s listened to dubstep for years, the current trend of riddim and atonal bass lines without melody can become a bit tiresome. While some gems exist, the overall coveted creativity of Subscape, Roksonix, even older Flux Pavilion, has waned. Still, there are elements of the old guard that persist; for instance, the bass growl. Nato Feelz is bringing the growl to the forefront on his new track “Drop Back,” which centers around the snarl. It’s pretty damn bouncy for a dubstep tune, meaning that maybe instead of headbanging so much, you’ll be using more of your shoulders and hips. Even then, it’s still an absolutely savage tune. It opens up with a sort of horror-inspired synth melody, only compounded by the powerful bass notes that reverberated, distorted, from your speakers. By the time the drop hits, your hairs should be standing on end. Check out “Drop Back” by Nato Feelz below! This article was first published on Your EDM. The English hitmaker Dido is set to return with her first album in five years. Titled Still On My Mind, it’s due for release on March 8th through BMG. The forthcoming effort serves as Dido’s fifth overall and follow-up to Girl Who Got Away, the 2013 LP which featured producers Jeff Bhasker and Greg Kurstin. Much of Still On My Mind was written and recorded in England as “a result of the fruitful and incredibly natural production/songwriting partnership” with brother Rollo, who contributed extensively to all of her previous releases. “It was simple, I only wanted to make another album if it was with him,” the 46-year-old Grammy-nominated singer noted in a statement. “It was made in such an easy way, all the vocals recorded on the sofa, a lot of it recorded at home.” Still On My Mind is said to carry a “dance and electronic music sensibility,” an ambiance that can be heard on its spiraling, synthpop-leaning lead single, “Hurricanes”. Hear it for yourself below. Still On My Mind Artwork: In support of the new album, Dido has already mapped out her first tour in 15 years, which includes a North American run in June. Along with new material off Still On My Mind, her setlist is expected to include smash singles like No Angel cut “Here With Me” and “White Flag”, taken from 2003’s Life For Rent. Travis Scott kicked off his “Wish You Were Here Tour” over the weekend, debuting a stage show that involved literal amusement park rides. The production was toned down considerably on Monday when the ASTROWORLD rapper made an appearance on Ellen to perform “Sicko World”. With no metal contraptions to utilize and no surprise appearances, Scott spent most of the performance circling his mic stand while surrounded by a cone of light or standing around while Drake’s voice played over the sound system. He still managed to deliver with pure fire, though, and the minimalist setting highlighted the MC’s true flow. Check out the replay below. This marked the Houston rapper’s third appearance on Ellen DeGeneres’ program, but to change things up, this time he also took a seat in the big white chair for an interview. Ellen opened the conversation by poking fun at Scott’s backstage rider, which apparently includes Moët champagne, Don Julio tequila, CÎROC apple vodka (because “Diddy might just pop in at any time of day”), and Hennessy (“a daytime thing for anyone who might come through”). Scott also gifted Ellen with a pair of his new Nike Air Force 1s and talked about being a new father, including cutting the umbilical cord and being freaked out by the placenta. To close things out, he discussed the possibility of making his next album a musical play. Take a look below. Source

I Did It! I Marathoned All Five Rocky Sequels!) There are also a number of solo contributions, including a Bon Iver track called “Power (Walk Out Music)”. Tracks from Lil Wayne (“Amen (Pre Fight Prayer)”), Vince Staples (“Ice Cold (Final Round)”), Ama Lou (“Bless Me”), and Ella Mai (Love Me Like That (Champion Love)”) also appear.
