i have noticed eddiy halliwell has started using shit like that, a bit smaller but all the same

Yeah man that sounds good, the more pople who get involved the better the prize could be. We have to create a good list of places to put them though, eg a police car, local paper, etc. I also think that whoever could get a famous person to wear one for a photo should win hands down
-
The way i would do it would be to create a list of 10 places to put stickers and the first one to do it (with photographic evidence) wins a prize?
-
No i didnt make a request before i think i missed the deadline that was set on a previous post but count me in for the next round of mailouts. Yeah a comp sounds good, maybe a free hoodie for the winner haha
-
I was planning to do this myself but seeing that i have no stickers i would like to put one of you guys up to the risky challenge. How about s sticker on a police car??? Or even better a police officer? haha

I will do man. I have it all in my head on how i want to do it but putting it out there is another thing, haha. I am just waiting on my mixer to arrive to get stuck in so been getting all the tunes i can in the mean time. I think for the genres i like its not too difficult to switch between them but for other styles i am not sure. What is your choice in genre?
-
Thanks for the support guys My Genre is a mixture of everything really. I like a bit of tech house / psy trance but LOVE hard dance and hardstyle. I want to incorporate all of them into my sets. I will def look into soundcloud, i think i will still do vids too, i like the idea of have a sort of video diary of how i am progressing. I dont know about you guys but i like watching vids of other people mixing just to pick things up and hopefully mine will help others in future
-
i think a once a week vid is a good idea, it will keep me motivated and will be good to look back on to see how i have progressed myself. I know a bit of music theory and how everything should match up but putting it into practice again will be hard. I find its not like riding a bike, if you stop you do have to learn it again to an extent.

Right guys, for the last 10 years or so i have always promised myself to become a dj, not just a bedroom dj but a successful club dj. A few years back i did manage to get into a few clubs and play but for whatever reasons i sort of gave up on it. Now however my flame has been reignited and is buring hotter than it ever was. I mean its all i think about day in day out. I now have the means to buy some good equipment, which i have, pair of 800's and 600 mixer, just to get me started off. What i am going to do is post 1 mix each week for some feedback on how bad or good i am progressing. This will give me the drive to improve and hopefully put into use some of the tips you guys will give me I am going to practice at least 4 hours per day and more at weekends so it should be interesting to see how i progress.

I do like big venues however i think the small intimate venus would probably top it for me. Up close and personal Got to be one of his best performances, thats what i want

Hey guys, what and where would be your dream DJ set. I am kind of thinking Amnesia, Ibiza dropping some real deep hard dance. Wachting the videos on youtube makes every hair on my body stand

One thing I will say is don't count on friends as the crowd your pulling. The first night you do they'll all come. After that the novelty has worn off a bit and not all of them will come to every event Plan it as if you don't have any fiends coming and try to pull in as many punters as possible. Cheers mate, it does make sense. I am planning to get as many people as i can, up hee in Darwin during dry season is buzzing so i am confident i can get in the crowd, i am not saying it will be a walk in the park but i am willing to put in alot of effort to get this working. This is what i have resorted to to get a good night out in Darwin with half decent music haha
-
Yeah and i totally agree with that, its a business after all. At the same time i am not doing this to make money myself, i am doing it for the love of music and only that. i have a few people onboard now the help me out, those being the DJ's who are willing to do the first night free and then negotiate payments for future events if its a success, which i may add it will be. With the 5 DJ's and myself we have a good starting crowd with all of our friends. I have all of the promotional costs worked out, expenses etc. i Just dont know how much detail i should go in with for the proposal
-
Cheers mate that would be great

Hey guys. Today i have called around a few DJ's i know to see if there are interested in an event that i have in mind. i am planning to contact the few nighclubs we have in the area to see if i could get an Ibiza style party going on. Basically i am fed up going out to clubs and listening to top 40 rubbish. We need an Ibiza style rave going on here, glow sticks, high-vis vests, the lot. i have the dj's who are willing to do it for nothing basically. i have it in my head how i want it but dont know how i approach club managers with the idea. Anyone any experince with this. Also how detailed a proposal will i reuire for visiting? Thanks in advance

Hey Hardstylers, There is a song in this link that starts @3.30, would any of you guys know the name of it?? Cheers http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ifqs4aLJ ... ature=plcp

Thanks man, I suppose a new night would be the way to go. I would even stand in the streets and hand out the flyers myself. I truely believe there is a place here for it. It brings me onto a new question. Why do different areas like different music. For example i mentioned that back home we are really heavy into hard styled music but oz seems to be more of a R&B / house / top 40 kind of country in general? (apologies if i am incorrect) Sorry i have just had a smoke and mind is working overdrive :s

Hey guys, I have been in Darwin for the last 6 months and have went to all of its nightclubs on numerous occasions to get a feel for the kind of music that the majority of people like or more so what the dj's are playing. Well as much as i love top 40 music with a hint of prog - psy trance, i think, i hope that people are open for a bit of change. I am from Ireland and there is a HUGE hard dance / trance / rave scene everwhere there. Here the DJ's do not even interact with the crowds, they keep the head down. I dont know about anyone else but this is really frustrating, i can see so much potential here and i think people would be open to change but how can i get this through to bar managers, promoters and fellow DJ's who are resident. It feels like the place is stuck in a rut and i believe that i am the breath of fresh air that it needs. That may sound a bit cocky but i am just very passionate about music and it kills me watching these nightclubs wasting and using only a tiny fraction of their potential. So my question is, how do i go about changing the minds of the guys who hire and fire DJ's i.e Club owners etc. I mean Hard Dance / Trance is basically non existant here from what i can work out (if anyone else knows different let me know)
