  1. Such cool techniques, will deffs be checking out more
  2. Glad you liked it man! I'll try and get some more stuff up soon!
  3. I appreciate all your advice dudes, but I'll be honest, that trip ended up being the loosest bender of my life and I never actually made it down to store DJ. I'm just gonna say fuck it and go with the Denon controller for something a little bit different.
  4. We are staying in Southbank at the Crown Tower, i'm thinking that's gonna be inner suburbs?
  5. I definitely understand what you guys mean about the sudden change in energy, it kind of seems more like a "banger" in the way it drops out and goes down into its own little section rather than adding to the song's growth as a whole (if that makes sense) I think @Mitch's Idea for the dead spot at 8:00 is fantastic. I'll jump on and try to get it flowing together as one journey rather than a few short trips, as well as killing that kick click Thanks for your advice my dudes, it is much appreciated
  6. Sweet! Sounds good to me dude
  7. I'm actually heading up to Melbourne this weekend with a bunch of the fellas for a good ol' time. I might see if i can con one of them into coming to Store DJ with me and getting a little turn on the range they have, the JB's near me only really have the controller i already use, along with the really little ones that you use with Virtual DJ
  8. I love techno, for me it's the epitome of capturing emotion and creating a soundscape in the mind. I really wanna get back into producing again as the last 6 months or so has been spent focusing on primarily mixing. Now, I'm nowhere near the level that some of you guys are at, I still consider myself a novice, but about 6-7 months ago i did finish this one track I'm going to link below. It's wayyy too long and uses a couple of presets, but over all I was pretty happy with how it ended up. It's not really mixed down or mastered at all because I haven't really acquired those skills just yet. I'm always open to criticism and feed back as well as gaining new knowledge , I was kind of hoping to get a little feed back on the track, but more so any tips/tricks & general rules you guys would follow in producing this kind of music. Lettuce know whatcha think
  9. Thanks Guys! The weather is currently shit, cold and wet, but that's the standard for Canberra this time of year I just posted a thread in the Drum & Bass Jungle forum with a mix I did yesterday, check it out if you have the time!
  10. Hey Dudes! I've just uploaded a mix to my soundcloud that I recorded yesterday Feel free to check it out, any feedback would be appreciated! Hope you dig it!
  11. I do tend to play with a mate of mine fairly often, so the dual port on the Denons seems like a feature i'll be using quite a frequently, I'll have a look around for a Store DJ but I'm pretty sure the closest one is in Sydney, Thanks for your input guys
  12. Hey dude's, what's good? So I've been looking around the interwebs for a new controller to use with Serato. I've been using one of these bad boys (Pioneer DDJ SB) but unfortunately mines seen better days. Throughout my browsing I've come across a brand of controllers/CDJ that I haven't heard of before, Denon. I want to switch to a controller with a four channel mixer (Bit too broke for CDJ's rn) and I've been eyeing off this sweet looking rig for a few weeks now (Denon MC7000) I wanted to see if any of you guys have had any experience with Denon, good or bad, or just any general thoughts on quality controllers? Cheer mang
  13. Thanks guys! I'll be picking some brains, that's for sure!
  14. Hey there! My name is Scixors, I'm a 21 year old dude, spinning tunes in the capital city of Canberra! I've been a bedroom DJ for almost 2 years now and I've just started trying to get out into the scene. I currently DJ fortnightly on Saturdays for a couple of hours at a local Platypus shoe store and I also do house parties from time to time. (Hoping to extend to bars/clubs/events!) I play a huge range of genre's from House to Dubstep, Hardstyle to Bass House, Dnb to Psytrance, Techno to Bangers, everything aside from Hip-Hop and RNB. I have a massive amount of respect for all genres and the challenges they each posses, which is why i don't like to nail myself down to anything in particular, at least not yet! I produce my own music as well,(nothing too extraordinary at this point) I came across this forum looking for tips on my first gig (a 21st birthday) and found a plethora of awesome advice and funny people, (as well as some awesome threads that helped me pick my name!) I'm excited to get amongst the forum, learn as much as i can and share any knowledge i may posses! Thanks for having me dudes/dudettes!
