CDJ1000 MK3 & DJM800 inc. original boxes etc
AndyTraxx replied to AndyTraxx's topic in Buy & Sell - Gear
Yeah cool cool... Where would be the best place to sell them do you think? -
Hello all, I have the 2x CDJ 1000's and 1x DJM800 and thinking of selling them so i can upgrade. I still have all the original boxes, documentation and all that. I still think they might be under warranty too. How much do you think the kit would be worth???

Just as an FYI...i beat the dude with the laptop in the DJ comp. lol But on a lighter note, i was just watching a few Youtube vids on the new record box with the CDJ2000's etc. Looks really cool. Ive got 1000's at the moment but seriously thinking to trade them in for some 2000's and give this record box and usb stuff a go! Anyone used it before?

Seriously man, from what it looked like. He was dropping in the tracks, setting cue points...and boom! Mix done. lol. But i dont know much about the software side of things, but i do know he did like 30 or so tracks in about 35 minutes.

Hello all, Ok, so ive always been a man of the CDJ's but went into a comp a few weeks back and this dude absolutely killed with with mash'ups on his PC. I mean...fair enough, sounded sick and all that, but i was watching him, and it seriously looked like he was just doing a "drag and drop"??? So ive been thinking... is it time to jump ship and head down the PC / software path? I haven't done any demos yet so my question is; 1. What is the best software out there to do demos on? 2. What is the best software which you would use playing live gigs and all that? I still am a fan of my CDJ's and not really crash hot about making the move, but seriously...this guy totally killed it with his laptop hey. haha.

FS: Pioneer HDJ-1000 Professional DJ Headphones
AndyTraxx replied to AndyTraxx's topic in Buy & Sell - Gear
sorry for the late reply champ. Item is sold. Put it on eBay. Got $150 for'em. SCORE! -
I have always wondered the same thing. I tend to do half half. If im doing a DJ comp or a super important gig, i might jot down a track list just to be safe. Playing deep house / soulful house you can usually get away with winging it all and still make it sound good :-) I think the only thing that catches me out with winging it is if i dont know my music very well and i need to sift through a few cds on the fly. With my CDJ1000's you can preview each track in seconds (a quick flick through is too easy!) With the CDJ900's there is AT LEAST a few seconds delay on loading each track. ARGHHH. so annoying. Anyone else get this same problem? Especially when winging gigs?

Im still getting my head around all the different types of "house" music. I can general pick the main ones like tech, club, funky, soul etc. Would love to get a few examples of the ones you mention though. Any recommendations of good sample tracks i can youtube or download?

Ive actually found that you can tell the difference if you listen close enough...or if your a music guru / nerd. As we all know 1440kbps vs. 320kbps is a pretty big difference. I just find the tracks to be more crisp and clear when playing .wav files compiled to audio. But then again, MP3 VBR 320kbps tracks are again another topic in itself with clarity etc - why cant we just have everything at .wav! would make life easier for djs thats for sure!!!!! But im only a newbie so im sure there are some hectick crazy equalisers and midi stuff out there that can disguise it all so you wont really know the difference. i guess the only reason "we" can tell is because we are mixing the tracks! -

I down grade the tracks to try to normalise the audio as best as i can - so all my music is at the same quality level. When you burn .wav and .mp3 in mixed compilations as good as nero or other audio burning programs are, they still tend to struggle normalising all audio tracks. So i figured, keep it all the same and 320kbps the lot! Still keep the .wav files on hand but i rather have all the same than some at great quality and some not so great. Hope that kind'a explains my ways... Crazy to do so? probably..but at least it is all normalised so the crowd wont know the difference anyways! -
Beatport, juno, traxxsource are always a fav of mine! But i agree, piss off LimeWire... most of the time you download tracks and they are virus linked to porn anyways...and hey, if it'aint free porn..i dont want it! LOLLLLL.

Hello all, Im sure this topic has been touched on before but my question is related to burning music and how others do it. I typically i use Nero to burn most "Audio" disk but wonder what others use out there? I typically download tracks at .wav and then downgrade convert them to MP3 320kbps due to majority of my music being 320kbps (those hard to find tracks are always in .mp3 format...arghhhhh). So in saying that, i usually find that tracks are never the same quality regardless of what there bitrate tag is (Even with .wav format tracks with sound, pitch and bass etc). How does everyone else overcome this issue or is everyone doing sort of the same thing with standardising all music to the 320kbps and then burning them as an "audio" cd.

Hey all, Just wondering, ive always seen in clubs DJ's using the Vinyl mode and not the CDJ mode when mixing. I personally prefer the CDJ mode as i feel i can grab the first beat of the track alot easier in this mode. But then again, never really given the Vinyl Mode a chance. I know the basic functions of the two but wonder why the Vinyl mode seems to be the preferred mode? cheers
