  1. hahahaha. im over it. best of luck to you tho djaz. hope you pickup something nice. let us all know when you do
  2. dooooooood. chill.
  3. like i said dood. we all know its optional, thats not the fuss of it all. the fuss is that people dont want theyre "art form" ruined by kids who buy these and think theyre david guetta. i know what you're saying, people who care, will learn to beatmatch, will learn everything they need to learn. but isnt half the fun learning to beatmatch, getting your tunes perfectly synced by ear, the trial and error, the frustrations. i'm no master dj by any stretch of the word. but the challenge of learning is what keeps me coming back. people have beef with these cdjs, its not gonna change, just let it go.
  4. AHAHAHAHAHA. best drawing. thanks dood. much appreciated.
  5. i understand what your saying, as i did start on VDJ, autosync was my favourite button. but you have to understand people coming from vinyl backgrounds want to protect their art forms. i do agree with you that technological advances are tops as. but the people that argue against this particular feature on these particular cd players do have some what of an argument. i wasnt around in the days of the forth coming cdj armageddon. and i would like to learn more about the origins of what we do. im just speaking from what i see around me and what i understand. p.s. i love having conversations like this, so props to you. hahaha.
  6. you dont have to use the beatlock feature, jus sayin im pretty sure the argument is not that you have to use it when you buy em. but that new users, i.e. kids that jump on DJin who have to much munny, will be lured into using this feature, never learn beatmatching, and causing a snowball effect where the skill of DJing is ruined, coz kids just wanna be tiesto. nothing ahainst tiesto though
  7. nah no website. a ticket is like 2k, not really worth it. i was just lucky i spose. that ebay thing looks orite. hey if its your first setup, dw bout the mixer. my personal opinion is its better to learn on shit equipment. if you sound like a boss on shit equipment, when you upgrade, imagine teh skilss you bring to the table mating with the opportunities better gear brings.
  8. serious? legit Pioneer? if so thats heaps good, just goes to show how much they are marked up in DJ stores and shit, also shows they cant be expensive to make as that asian that sold them 2 you was probly making a profit unless he stole them instead of buying them haha hahaha. yea, legit pioneer. just needed to by an australian power cable for em. loves asian bargains. yea was a legit electronics store. like, in singapore theres an electronics shopping centre, and all these stored tryin to get your attention, so you can barter heaps to get your prics matched nd shit. heaps good.
  9. i got mine in singapore for 700 bucks for the pair. which i felt was a bargain. brand new. but yea cdj350s are for people who like DJ Hero. hahaha.
  10. ive had em for about 3 or 4 months now. and i wouldnt upgrade til sometime next year. for me they are sweet. i have played on 1000s and 2000s and the transition is easy. so its not like i need to upgrade, its more of a preference thing. atm i am more of a mobile DJ, and 400s are a tad smaller, lighter hence easier to move. but if the opportunity comes for some cheap second hand 1000 mk3's then id feel confident to jump on it, set them up and feel right at home.
  11. i have 400s and i love em. first set of decks too. i'm in love with em. the jog wheel feels a bit plasticy. but other than that they are really well built. the effects come in handy. i really only use roll and wah though. i love mine. usb sticks tend to load a little slower than CDs but not like 2 minutes or anything just a few seconds. i havnt tried hookin em up to a lappy for midi use yet, and i dont think i really will but yea. im extremely happy with them. paired with a djm400 its heaps of fun. hope that helps.
  12. haha fair call. thanks for the reply dood.
  13. bomfunk still goes off!!! ha ha i was just bumping that cd in july. love it man. hahaha. bomfunk is amazing. think i might drop bboys flygirls at my next house party. hahaha.
  14. i dj in a duo with my best mate. we fucken have heaps of fun. one of us hit effects and EQs the other beat matches, and we take turns. its HEAPS of fun. you get to go to sick parties with your best mate. get blotto (if your so inclines) and get girls (coz the DJ always gets the girls) hahahaha. give it a try dood. so much fun.
  15. i got a set of 400s and a djm400. and that is all you need dood. even cdj200s. learn to beatmatch by ear. and your sweet. i got the 400s super cheap from a friends international relatives, but started with a numark m4 mixer. even that was dope. you just have to remember, while pioneer is all good and well, its not the be all and end all. although ive never used then, i hear denon cd player go fricken sweet. dont be so quick to jock pioneer like most new DJs.
  16. bonfunk mc - in stereo. those choons went off in grade 5
  17. i'm wanting to build a road case for my cdj 400s and djm 400. anyone done something similar? with a little compartment at the back for cables and junk. what im worried about is slots in the front of the case to jam cds in the cdjs. just wondering if anyones tried this? had any success with it?
  18. i know you can still beat match on them, what im saying, is if you buy them so you dont have to learn to beatmatch. your going to fail on any other deck you use. and no one is going to take you seriously. a and yes they are ugly to boot.
  19. what you have to remember is that if any of the "DJs" that buy 350s and mix with the beatlock/autosync thingo, get a gig at a club based on a mixtape or demo done with these features, they are most likely gonna get fu*ked in the bum by it. coz as we all know, the club standard is usually 900s, 1000s etc. learning to beatmatch for the first time at your first proper gig wont go down to well.
  20. second that beatless. i do the same thing. when auto cue fails. vinyl mode comes into play. im trying to learn to scratch just for kicks. but its not my main concern.

    o hai!

yo just a quick intro to myself, currently 18. kicking it in melbourne. just got into DJing really. starting going to clubs and realised i love the music and the skills of being able to match the beats and mix tunes got me interested. just recently bought 2x CDJ400 (trying not to use the bpm counter ) and a numark m4 just as a basic starter. working with me and a good mate we have split the price of everything. yea, just wanted to say YO.
