why do you hip hop guys always do it on a work night, i would come out otherwise

It was common practice back in the early 90's for hip hop nights to be held at the old Hyde Park Hotel (back when it was good!). These nights were what spawned on Syllabolix and basically created the West Australian Hip Hop scene (shout outs to DJ Armee for putting on the old RnB/Hip Hop nights at The Hydey at the age of 17 mind you). Its pretty much tradition at this point, it gives young guys who can't always get weekend supporting slots, a chance to perform and EARN those supporting slots, also gives shine to the DJ's that usually get forgotten about or under appreciated. As both a rapper and a DJ, I think these nights are a great concept, breaks the week up nicely, and were all usually in bed before midnight!

I'll hopefully be involved in some more weekend gigs coming up, pretty much just secured a residency at my local The Brook for Friday nights. Gonna do different themed nights; i.e hip hop, RnB, trap etc. Should come check it out once I start
