This track masterfully combined the sensual appeal of Tove Lo — who can back up her seductiveness with incredibly talented vocals — with the ever-intriguing production of one of the top artists in the world, Harley Streten. With such attractive vocals, remixes of “Say It” immediately began to appear all over the internet. Following up a recent stand-out remix from Illenium, Grammy-winning UK crossover band Clean Bandit decided to have a stab at the smash hit. What resulted is a relaxed, semi-tropical groove quite far removed from the original in most respects. Whereas the original has large dynamic changes between the reserved energy of the verses and the epic, breaking-free energy of the chorus, Clean Bandit’s remix stays consistent throughout, leaving the top-notch vocals as the centerpiece of the track — as they should be.
