It’s the stuff dance music dreams are made of… for all you budding superstar DJs out there anyway! Here at inthemix we’ve teamed up with the crew from Future Entertainment to offer one lucky bedroom banger the chance to open up the day at a date on the upcoming Future Music Festival tour.

To be in with a chance all you have to do is submit your DJ mix of no more than 30 minutes before midnight, Sunday February 15th. Judges will then choose the best of the bunch and place them online for public voting. The mix that’s then deemed #1 will receive a prize that any aspiring DJ nationwide would happy to offer their firstborn for…

The winning DJ and a lucky friend will be flown from their nearest capital city to Brisbane (unless, of course, they already live in Queensland!) and put up in a hotel for two nights. They’ll receive tickets for them and their guest to the event at Brisbane Turf Club on Saturday March 7th, and – most important of all – they’ll play the opening DJ set at the festival!

Entries are open to DJs playing techno, electro, house, hip hop and trance, but remember your mix must be sent to us before midnight, Sunday February 15th. How do you submit your mix? Read the steps for entry below and make sure you follow them exactly for your submission to count.

NOT A DJ? DON’T WORRY, YOU CAN STILL WIN!

We’ll be selecting the best of the mixes for public voting and you’ll be able to tell us which one is your favourite simply by listening at inthemix.fm. There’ll be 10 double passes to Future Music Festival dates nationwide up for grabs to anyone who votes, so be sure to let us know which one rocks your world when we announce finalists in a few weeks time!

STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS

1. Record your mix of no more than 30 minutes, then save it as an mp3 file at 128kbps. No files are to exceed 30 megabytes in size.

2. Name your mix in the following style: “Real name – DJ name (if applicable) – mobile number.mp3” For example: “John Smith – DJ Johnny – 0400 000 000.mp3”

3. Head to the upload page. Enter your name and email address, then attach your file and upload it in full.

4. Sit back and wait for the announcement of finalists here on inthemix, February 18th!

After reading the post "DJ RhemyD's guide to Going Legit", how is this even legal? They mention to record a 30min mix and upload as MP3. don't get me wrong, i'd love to win this comp - the Future Music events are the best!!

Technically/legally, shouldn't you obtain permission from all of the Track's Record Companies and own a "format shifting " license to move it from audio (CD / Vinyl / MP3) to a mixed mp3??

I'm bloody confused with all this and just want to get my demo CD out there... help!!
