  1. I am wanting to get some turntables but I don't really want/have the money to buy a completely new mixer when I already have my S4. My question is whether it's possible to use the turntables through traktor, assign them to decks A and B and then use the jog wheels on the S4 for either effects or assigned to deck C and D? Also what turntables should I get? I've only used 1200s so far and they were pretty amazing but I'm sure there are better turntables out there. (budget undecided)
  2. Just search for acapellas
  3. This is legit. I wish it was longer.
  4. I Used to get audio glitchyness/dropouts all the time but once I replaced my speakers and amp it all went away.
  5. fixed I'd definitely be interested in this, especially if there will be guides/tutorials.
  6. Yeah other languages is the way to go if you can speak one. For example my DJ name is Devant which means "in front" in French.
  7. T-shirts and hoodies.
  8. It might be a good idea to setup above ground, this will make you seem a bit more intimidating and prevent your shit from being touched.
  9. Yeah sounds good, thanks!
  10. Something like this is what I want to acheive:
  11. Some of you guys are silly, Linux is great. I've used Linux all my life (Dad is a huge Linux nerd) and I've always found it better than Windows. I'm currently running Linux Mint on my Main PC, it's my personal favourite when it ces to the different distros.
  12. A talent competition/music battle is happening soon at my school and I thought it would be a great chance to get some notice for DJing. The mix would have to be between 5-10 minutes long (possibly less) and it couldn't be just a straight fade-in-fade-out mix for a bunch of drunks, it needs to be quite technical to show my prowess as a DJ which will hopefully get me some parties! My question to you guys is where to start? What sort of music is good for being technical but will still keep my age's attention. At first I was thinking of doing some sort of scratching, acapella, sample mix but then I remembered at my current level I can't scratch for shit. XD Any tips/suggestions?
  13. Back to Youtube then!
  14. Does anyone know if I can get DJ lessons in Melbourne? Are they available anywhere and if they are what are the rates? Not only turntablism and mixing but music production as well.
  15. whats the two audio input system? Umm the Macbook Pro has the two input/output whereas the 13" macbook pro and macbooks have just the one.
  16. Will a MacBook do or is it reccomended to get a two audio input system.
  17. I use Linux anyway so I'm not very confident with either lol. I think I'm going to buy a non-apple computer due to thier amazingly overpriced price tag and insall Macos on to that.
  18. There is that dodgy virtual booting to run FL studio in Mac.
  19. I dont see the appeal in a MacBook. For that price you could get a non-apple pc with 100x better specs. Or is it to do with the apple operating system being better than windows in terms of music?
  20. So it's been awhile since I last posted on these forums and during that time I've bought a Traktor Kontrol S4 and have been playing around with it non-stop. I've decided that I absolutley love DJing and I want to continue. I have a few questions though before I start on my quest to fame. What is the BEST program(s) for making music. I want to make my own music and use that music I make for mixes during live performances. From what I gather from Traktor (I might be completely wrong) is that Traktor is used as a live tool rather than a program for making music. I want a program that has all the features you could need and has some ease of use aspect. How do I get gigs/become noticed? I'm wondering how most of the full time DJs on this forum started out in regards to getting gigs/shows. At the moment I'm 16 turning 17 so I know I'm probably limited in what I can do for a year or so but any pointers or tips would be great! Is it better to specialize in one genre of music or is it better to be open and offer different things? I personally love every form of electronic music. Whether it be happy asian techno to Glitchpop. With that being said however, the music I most enjoy is dubstep and House/Progressive House. Would it be better to specialise in one of these or play a variety or different music? What Laptop is good to use? I'm wondering what aspects are required for a good DJ Laptop. If anyone says Apple I will murder you. Thanks a lot guys! :assault:
  21. I swear StoreDJ didn't have them in stock a few days ago. O.o Thanks a bunch bro!
  22. Everywhere I can get from google. If you can find a place that's not could you link me.
  23. Lame, it's sold out everywhere.
  24. Decided to get the S4 Sorry for the double post.
  25. by turn table, do you mean jogwheels? Yeah, not a fully fledged turntable sorry. EDIT: Also what's a good pair of headphones? I have a friend that works at audiophile in Melbourne so I can get Grado (da bess) headphones for dirt cheap. Or if there's something better or more DJ orientated. And I think I will get the S4 Kontrol in the end.
