it would be better for him to get some cd'djs and a mixer first though, that way he cant get used to the sync button. like a wise man once said, if you cant dj without a computer, you shouldn't be djing.
-
agreed, the words, "budget" and "dj" do not fit together well.
-
Stumbled across this mix today, I bloody love it!
-
something that isnt a mdex 3
-
the mixtrack pro is alright, but not the mixtrack, the Hercules rmx is looking a good option for you man! also, I think im the only one foolish enough to own a mdex3 atm
-
with the normal mix track, you cant cue up songs without a extra sound card, so you cant listen to one song on your headphones and leave the current song playing over the speakers.

yeh, il find out what the plan thing is when im home from school and ask my parents. Pretty sure its just called "the education rebate" though. You can claim up to $1500 on it a year edit: www.educationtaxrefund.gov.au/
-
p.s. sorry cupe, cant post in the beginners section at school for some odd reason, appreciated if you could move it there.
-
Thank you gandy I really appreciate the advice its 600 because I get the education discout, then cause im enrolled in tafe I get 50% back

Hey guys, so my next planned upgrade for my gear will be: a traktor s4 a dedicated macbook pro Traktor s4 bag (from dj tech tools) $1070 (for s4 $600 (for macbook pro, after education discount and claiming under education rebate) $130 TOTAL: $1800 the reason Im steering towards the s4 is because its simple easy and portable setup I can even take interstate as carry on luggage. One of the things im worried about though is cpu usage, I want to be able to do everything I need to and not limit myself because of my computer. I spose if I keep getting these issues, I can take it back for a refund and get something else. So what do you guys think? I know you want me to get some cdj's but im really a controllers to be honest. any opinions or constructive criticism?
-
Why not a mixtrack pro, there more spaced out, good sized jog wheels? I guess if you got that, later you can hook some turnies up to it and have a dvs setup. but yeh man, save some more money, its better to get some quality first up instead of making the foolish choice I did with the mdex 3. are you planning to do clubs or the whole mobile thing?
-
Watch these Also, I own the mdex 3 too man, but honnestly, there as basic as bread and butter, you would be better off getting something like a mixtrack pro, then putting a bullet though the sync button. $500 is pretty low for a starting butget, id suggest saving up some more cash so you can get some quality gear, prehaps a pair of cdj 200's and a mixer. also one final note, see if you can sit in with a dj, and see if you achaly like it before you do it. its VERY hard work!
-
another alternative is the mix-track pro i guess.
-
Yeh haha, il try and fix them, I mean I have nothing to loose, if they die Il buy the hdj-500's and if they are fixed, il be $100 in pocket
-
im really after any suggestions on how to get them back to working order. There good headphones, I don't want to chuck them out.
-
I already had the mdex when I came to this forum and street, yeh, but just plug an output into the mic slot of your mac, it would sound terrible recording it through the mic
-
yeh Il get some Hd-500's when these die, but there good headphones, and im not keen to lose them.

Hey, I brought a pair of stanton sc-3000's from lloydc a few months back, have been very carefully with them, but recently felt a crack :S they still work, currently am glueing them back together with pvc, then after will use my special plastic glue. Any other suggestions? http://imageshack.us/g/846/dsc00131vd.jpg/ yeh :S

that's essentially the same as the cdj400s, it really isn't a problem at all bpm counters aren't 100% accurate, they are there as a guide man. so the fact it doesn't show the bpm to a decimal place is irrelevant. i think he meant that he doesn't think the pitch control is accurate enough, as in moving it up or down a little bit, changes it more than he wants yeh, I dont use the bpm reader, I was just referring to the pitch indicator (or what ever its called). oh well, back to practice mixing!
-
gotta agree with this sol, i no you do need some lighting for party's but i deffinately would have gone for good decks before hand...not to good obviously because you dont want cdj2000's getting wrecked at a party ahh, just letting you know, I only spent $250 on lights.
-
Id love to buy it, and if I had the money id buy it in a second, however, I do not have the money at the moment around for one.
-
Yeh about that, im also having another problem with my mixing, sync'ing beats to be specific. The pitch control on my mixer only goes like 1,2,3,4 and not 1.1 1.2 1.3. 1.4 . do you think this could be effecting how I match the beats? or do I just need more practice?
-
I sense trolling EDIT: my sense's where wrong
-
its more playing tracks rather than mixing the purpose is to get underground tracks that aren't very well known out there
-
hahaha, im not liking them, also, is there something better than ustream I can use, something with a chat box on the side as well as video prehaps? so people can talk to me while im playing?
