Serato is most commonly used for turntabilism. Traktor is for multi-deck beat locked looping Richie Hawtin style. VDJ is Deck A deck B beat lock program. It's limiting and just too easy, Traktor is kind of similar but far more powerful and respected

this guy i know works at a school and the music department was throwing out their old gear. apparantly the ax60 was one of the last things to go. i almost cried thinking about the other stuff they prbly threw away!! yeah so he gave the ax60 to my work (a disability day centre) for our clients and i said il replace the ax60 w a 64 key piano that doesnt need speakers and is less complicated...voila!! the ax60 is mine!! disabled ppl dont need lfos, filters, adsr envelopes, multiple waveforms etc

i just found a free, fully working akai ax60 synth! its got a filter, 4 different waveforms, white noise generator, lfo and more. il post up pics wen i get it home

am i lucky in the fact my practice is actually playing and my set list is just wateva will sound gd? or is that just unorganized?

Allthough its good to have general knowledge of genre (which you obviously dont have Gandy, no offence), but remember not to get stuck in genre. I personally think theyre a load of shit. What defiens the difference between?: minimal, tech, tech house, prog house, deep house, ambient, chillout etc etc. Just take look at beatport, they have a pretty sensical choice of genres. beyond that... i would bother

a massive amount of mobile DJs just play music. Being a good DJ is very hard and takes years. Meaning a lot or most mobile DJs just settle for weddings n shit where the high skill level isnt needed
