  1. Hey fellas where is a good place in Melbourne preferably south eastern suburbs to hire some dj gear, basic pa like 12-15 inch and industry standard pioneers would help. I looked at dj warehouse they have some nice pa and a good pioneer set up i am familiar with, being cdj 850 and the djm 700. I looked at dj city but im abit sus on the gemini all in one unit and the AVE's ( if anyone has had good experience with these 2 items please say so). Is there a "go to" on the Mornington peninsula though? thanks
  2. yeah he said he'd chuck a djm700 in and a coffin for 1200 i think. and just compared to some other cue and play buttons they are not as solid feeling.
  3. ok fellas, i went to check out the decks i was actually at my friend who owns them house for half a day and used them most of the time and they read discs and eject discs and all that perfectly there is no delay in the skipping of the songs on the disc you can alsmost do that as they are being fed into the play every thing about the decks to my knowledge seemed perfect the play and the cue buttons where the only thing i doubted while they worked perfectly they seemed quite loose ( like they have had a good use ) in saying that they have had one owner! but for the price he is asking im pretty happy with the performance. p.s many discs where used. all performed impeccably.
  4. thanks for posting this man so cool, looking foward to being legal. its really cool to see a club that accommodates for such a wide age variety. and seeing pete tongs head in between others ahah. good to see someone using a s4.
  5. hire them man not worth spending that sort of money on average speakers you may only use once.
  6. that is a very accurate statement!
  7. im going to test them out on Saturday, play a set on them. i think the buttons will be fine the true test lays in whether or not the disk reader is still good.
  8. its sounded like it in term of the attack and decay but it wasnt gritty or rough enough so im just playing with different waves now.
  9. sweet man trying this now
  10. boys still cant get it... its going to be the death of me!
  11. yeah ok i saw the buttons and they are silver so they are mk2's which is great. i dont think i will get to see the receipt but the reason he is selling them so cheaply i think is that he is getting 900's next month and mates rates. but any defects that are dead give aways of the machine being faulty? thanks fellas
  12. im going to have a go of them on saturday. what is a mk2 dead give away. and what are some things to watch out for when buying them. also it is a friend selling them but just needed to double check on here. and they were serviced last month im told which is nice to hear!
  13. is $450 for a pair of cdj 800 mk 2's good value. and if they are mk 1 is that still any good? cheers.
  14. yeah i could re wire fl with ableton worth a try i guess! Yeah that sounds logical ok ill give that a try to, hope i can get it with at least one of these methods.
  15. yeah i think i can remember that from when i use to use fl but i know for a fact this was created in ableton and that is what i am using now aswell.
  16. this has had me stumped for ages in the first 10 secs of this song how is that off beat bass created not in terms of placement or anything i get all that ( i actually got lessons of this guy ) but like that sound im assuming it was created in sylenth and it has a filter on it but is that sound created by distortion or ? could someone please help. need to know how to create tuffness! https://soundcloud.com/nathan-thomson/kayliox-glass-fat-meron-ryan-1
  17. just read that very true, i guess a conclusion is more influential than the heading. last thing you read.
  18. I'm assuming some of the veterans of this forum have probably seen this article but i guess ill post it up for the newer users of the forum. I dont really agree that you should try and write a "hit house track" but should write one because you love it none the less has some good tips and is an interesting read. http://news.beatport.com/blog/2009/06/29/how-to-write-a-hit-house-track-10-top-tips/
  19. hey guys not sure why i have taken so long to make an introduction post, but better late than never i guess!. I spose im making and introduction now because i want to become a more active member of this forum and start contributing to beggining producers knowledge like you guys have to mine in the past months ive used this forum. Im 16 into all types of electro and i want to learn as much as i can so one day i can make intricate and interesting tunes. also really enjoy the support and feedback i have received from the few posts i have posted on here. thanks and hi.
  20. pretty cool. i think it needs a bit of arrangement work though it felt a little bit repetitive, sort of like one big chorus but i love the idea of what is going on though
  21. funky as,I agree with Tomy as well though.
  22. hey guys i was wondering if there would be anyone who wanted to collab in the south eastern suburbs of Melbourne id consider my self young and still new to this even though ive been into it for a few years now, i dont mind what music we collaborate in aslong as it is electronic. I am an ableton user preferably live 8. i would really enjoy a collaboration and take at as an opportunity to learn and develop my skill as apposed to trying to take a song to the beatport charts. pm me if interested
  23. where abouts on this forum would be a good place to start a post asking producer members of this forum about the industry sort of generalized questioned not related to gear or music. probably more related to experience i guess maybe. ? thanks.
  24. hi guys so i have put together this track today as you can hear it is fairly unfinished and isnt mastered etc. this is because i am stuck in a rut at the moment and that is mostly what elements should i ad now ? and how would i arrange a track like this? as it is not usually my production strong point. I need to add fx in and what not but i will leave that until after the arrangement something that i also require some help on is percussion other than kick, snare and hats what type of percussion is generally found in rap, trap, dubstep and like glitchy stuff what would you recommend? and lastly as this track is out of my comfort zone of electro house as a young growing producer would you guys be able to offer and suggestions or advice on how i could finish this track up as i do like what i have so far and am keen for a finished result. cheers. http://www7.zippyshare.com/v/40443162/file.html p.s apologies if i have put this in the wrong genre.
