  1. Hi guys, I have the above mixer, and I've noticed using the Master 1, Ive noticed I can only really have the levels about 1/3 or so of the overall levels, anything more, and it starts pushing the levels into reds (clipping). Please see the image: Is this usual?
  2. I have just listened back to this.. It's absolutely terrible beat matching lol
  3. hey guys.. my FIRST recording with CDJs, im not happy at all, i dare say most (if not all) is not beatchmatched correctly. Wihile doing it live, I wasnt happy, therefore havent listened back to it yet. Feel free to critique. Constructive critisism very welcome. https://soundcloud.com/trentwldn/attempt

All good man. Bombs Away are sick. I had the pleasure of getting a "Bombs Away Chain" signed when they partied in a Frankston nightclub a couple of years back. They played at Whip Nightclub recently, I know Dixie, and occasionally talk to Sketch, so I was invited to their greenroom before set - absolute amazing. My friend is DJ Sierra Jane. She's amazing. Highly recommend to anyone.

Hi all, Guess I had better get into the intro's. I'm Trent. Have been playing around with music for as long as I can remember, mostly with Virtual DJ (lame, I know). I have just taken the plunge and bought a setup (2x CDJ350's and a Reloop RMX40 mixer). As I said, I've been keen and interested in music for years and years, since about NYE just gone, I've been getting active in the club scene, meeting promoters, producers, DJ's, event owners etc. etc. And so far, it's been an absolute blast. I have become very good friends with a Melbourne based DJ, and I am receiving private lessons, she is absolutely amazingly talented, and is always getting gigs across Melbourne - I'm very lucky. My music tastes range nearly everything. Rock, punk, metal, rap, RnB, retro, house, hard-styles, commercial, Melbourne bounce etc. My only dislike - jazz and Beethoven style music. My absolute idols are Bombs Away and the Bomb Squad crew. I am a massive massive fan of EDM and the music it produces. Big mention to those who helped me recently in the tech section. I'll start recording mixes real soon
  7. BeatleSS: haha yeah, its mega frustrating that with IT qualifications, the amount of 'man hours' and beers had in frustration, asking a good friend of mine about the config (dj of four years), was VERY close to selling my mixer to look into maybe a DJM350 or something with recording capability. Just to restart my laptop, plug in USB only.. BOOM 'Line In', record with Aud' and see a waveform appear. I nearly had a heart attack. When I get more confidence and structure, I will definatey record a mix. I have a structure of songs I want to bounce between.. Just need to get the phases/intro's/outtro's setup correctly.. and BEATMATCH haha.. My DJ will be shitty at me for not beatmatching lol.
  8. Hi guys, I have no idea what happened. But I went right back to basics. Plugged ONLY USB1 to my mixer to laptop. Rebooted my laptop, nek minnit. Booyeh, I'm now able to record clear, clarity through Audacity. I have recorded a mix for 17 minutes, before stupidly ejecting the wrong CDJ, ha! I'll work on stuff, and I'll throw up a mix. Cheers for all your help!!
  9. You guys are amazing. I appreciate the help. Im generally alright when it comes to tech stuff (simply IT qualifications etc) haha. This whole sound production/DJ stuff is really throwing me. Lol. Once again I appreciate it.. I'll give it a shot this evening!
  10. RIGHT.. Soo.. im not trying to sound like a dudd.. But whats the Line In? I assumed the Line In was the Mic In.. Like I said, I have a USB Sound card which has headphone port and Mic port.. Would this not be usable?
  11. haha thanks BeatLe.. I'm keen as all hell to start recording!! I want to grow my skillset etc, but I have nothing to work off, nothing to listen back to and go 'I need to change this, or that'. Thanks pal.
  12. Mitch: I'll give this attempt another try, I think I had tried it once before, but not set the MIC port on the laptop sound card as default. I also have a USB sound card which I cna try as well. Cheers guys.
  13. Nope.. Nothing there looking like it picks up a signal there either.
  14. Ok, so I have a Toshiba laptop, which obviously has its own internal microphone (which I clearly don't want to use.) My steps I have done: Plug in a usb cable to both USB 1 and USB 2 into the reloop mixer. Turn on both CDJ's and mixer. Plug in USB1 Computer recognises. Rename this input as "USB1" in properties (for easier recognition). Plug in USB2 Computer recognises. Rename this input as "USB2" in properties (for easier recognition). And set this as DEFAULT Sound recorder device. Open Audacity, select Tranbsport> rescan audio devices. In drop down menu for microfphobe source, select USB2. Play song on either deck (ensure its coming through speakers etc), click record on Audacity, as you can see. there's NOTHING being captured. If there's more info I can provide to troubleshoot, let me know. Thanks
  15. I'll touch base with you guys probably tomorrow night. I won't be able to work on anything tonight.. but definitely keen to sort this issue. Thanks for the replies by the way
  16. Wow.. I've been googling for ages and couldn't find it. I connected the two USB cables to my laptop as described, and still getting NO signal from Audacity.
  17. Hi guys. I have just bought my first setup - 2x CDJ 350's and an RMX 40 Reloop mixer. I've read on reviews it's possible to record from the mixer via USB, but I am lost as to how. I bought the equip second hand so unfortunately no manuals. I have a laptop which im hoping I can record to MP3 with.
