  1. Their new single trouble sounds alright....
  2. The only people that have to worry about licenses are (in general) mobile DJ's. If you are a bedroom DJ you need zilch, if you are peforming in a pub or club the owner generally has to worry about it, not yourself (make sure you are playing legal copys however, not pirated). If you are a mobile you need everything... Check out my article linked from the main page for more info.
  3. I'll check it out, is it just effectivly a podcasted show? Record in your own studio and then they play it?
  4. Like it says... whats the big deal? its just another artist... apparently he was having trouble with border security?
  5. how do you go about getting one of these slots? Also how much experience do you need? I'm thinking of boosting my skill set and taking this way more seriously then i have been. Clubs, Pubs, radio stations rather then the good old 80's party mix needed for 99% of a mobile DJ's work in Adelaide.
  6. That's the one! nice pic Caleupe!
  7. yeah its responsibility of the venue to be liscenced. Only mobile DJ's and club owners need to be awear of this.
  8. woot! high tail conversations with myself about the mobile industry!
  9. that comic brings to mind the following joke: Fighting on the internet is like the paraolympics. even if you win your still retarded.... no offence ment
  10. yeah i just realised i may have stirred the pot so to speak... didnt realise dennis was so high strung... IN EVERY THREAD! but, moving along. How many people are on here that are serious about mobile?
  11. i'm with blodders. Considering im basing my whole mobile business around my computer. lolz, i think PPCA and APRA would've told me what i'm doing is illegal if it was considering i've checked it all out every step of the way. lolz. So what's happened? Has Dennis just left or was he "driven" out by administration.
  12. Dj Dennis... if your tied up with all these companies then maybe you should go talk to your boss and find out what the real laws are. I've been in correspondence with PPCA and ARIA regarding mobile DJing using computers and they have licenses for this! I Smell a Conspiracy Theoriest!

    New laptop

i hear dual processors are working well for computer based DJ's. and as mentioned in the mobile forum. Computerised DJing is NOT illegal, i think some of these old timers need to re-read the regulations.
  14. So how did it all begin? Working with audio tech since around year 9 in high school, logical progression was DJ’ing. Started around October 2006. Where did the name come from? RhemyD : Richard Henry Edwin Matthews aka Dick, the y just is for artistic creation. What gave you that initial push? One of my mates needed a hand DJ’ing a gig, so I put up my hand and the rest is history. Which came first: DJ'ing, Production or Promoting? DJ’ing. Want to get into the others though Who's throwing the best parties at the moment? Would’t have a clue! I’ve got a two year old lol. As for playing the best, well you can’t go wrong hiring RhemyD Entertainment (sly I know) Which other countries have you played/put parties on? I wish. What was the first event you ever played at/put on? Someones 50th. What’s the best event you've played at/put on? Flinders University House’s Annual ball, was also my first official function working for Somers Entertainment. What was your first record you bought? Will be time coded vinyl in coming months. What was the first CD you bought? Linkin Park’s Hybrid Theory Out of all the tunes you have, which one 'never fails'? Nutbush (I’m a party DJ) What's your favourite tune of all time? No idea When all the partying is over how do you like to chill out? Sitting at home, thinking of my next mix. So how is the Australian scene in your eyes at the moment? In Adelaide? Too small, no matter who I ask no one is willing to give me the necessary info to break into the club scene. It’s friken annoying. How old are you? 19, 20 in February. Where do you live? Maslin beach! In Adelaide South Australia What can you remember of playing/being at your first live set? It was dodgy as all hell, was using two CDJ100’s an iPod and a laptop with iTunes. Totally not going to ever do that again. How big is your vinyl collection? What do you think of CDJ's? or How big is your CD collection? What do you think of Turntables? Shrug? I’ll get back to you. Turntables? I wont a pair so I can controller VDJ. Funniest thing that ever happened at an event? A drunk chick trying to hit on me. Other DJ's you rate? What are your feelings on the MC's? What do you do outside of the music scene? University. Electrical and electronic engineering combined with mathematics and computer science. What advice would you give to up and coming DJ's/Promoters? I am one… help? When you play is it mostly pre-planned or on the fly? Pre-planned  If you could put yourself as the res DJ in any scene, where would you choose? House.
  15. really? why do you say that.
  16. ANDJA was that the DJ association that no longer exists?
  17. Why do you say that using computers is illegal? The PPCA now has a broader liscening classifications for the use of digital media. As far as I'm concered we fall into a tarrif F classification. A computer running DJ software is still classified as a discotheque unit. As for ARIA you can purchase a blanket liscence that covers the convergence of cd's to MP3's. So I would like to know why you are saying that it is illegal to use computers in the industry. There are several big name DJ companies that do it. Elite, Somers, Vegas Promotions... I think someone needs to back up there statement with facts!
