yizzle Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 So for any Traktor 2.5 users out there playing around with the new(ish) remix decks.Artists are now slowly bringing out .trak files to their releases. (which is something i have been looking forward to)today i came across M.A.N.D.Y's - Twisted Sister .pak on BeatPort."Exclusively for Traktor's Remix Decks. This set is made up of 64 individual loops and sounds from the original version of the track. A Remix Set loads just like a regular track in TRAKTOR DJ software with Remix Deck⢠technology. It gives you total control of the drum loops, bass lines, synths, and vocals from Twisted Sister. Now you have the ability to perform a track, not just play it out"i guess as a guitarist for 10 years, i the thought of kinda being able to loop a breakdown and 'solo/improv' over it with the samples, or more more individual intro/outro's is pretty darn exciting.mind you, for $5 bucks a pop for a .trak pack vs the $1.99 for a track.i will be pretty selictive in the future of .paks.aaaanyway, thoughts, opinions? GREMM1S Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 Kind of taking all the talent out of it, generally for stuff like this which is done on mpcs and maschines, people had to sample the tracks themselves which obviously took along time.I see more potential for people to ruin tracks, but none the less still very cool. Mitch Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 A lot of potential with it.Looks more detailed than just remix stems as there is 64 elements in the pack.I don't see how it is taking the talents out of it though, you still need good skills with your controller to pull it off. The talent is in the performance, the recording of the samples is just time consuming. The only part it is 'ruining' the way your looking is it makes it easier to find samples, and you get to spend more time practicing / performing. However people who are good at this sort of thing will use these in combination with finding and sampling their own samples as well, so in no way is it a bad thing. Quote
GREMM1S Posted November 23, 2012 Posted November 23, 2012 Dunno depending on how you set it up may not need to be that good at all, if you use it to make new sounds and stuff then great, but if its just every person on their mashcine or launchpad just recreating the original song i dont see the point.I think it will fail to blow up and just move on sort of thing, will be interested to see what some crazy dudes can do with this though.
