BeatLeSS
Anyone got any tips on getting started with an APC40/Maschine and Ableton for DJ'ing.I'm pretty keen to make this move as it's the equipment I have available to me and Mitch is always on my case about having an APC40 and never using it I've started watching some basic videos on clip launching and segmenting out your tracks but any pointers in this program would be farken tops.I'll also document my journey through this thread as I go along, my plan is to build a really dope platform for playing sets at festivals which will allow me to integrate the hardware that I have available, and also be ready for additions as I acquire additional things to give me the opportunity to move to a fully live performance. LabRat
i'm about to jump on board this train. haven't started looking into it yet coz the suppliers delivering my launch pad are taking their sweet ass time :walli'll be looking into it soon. you may have seen this article on mapping the maschine with ableton but if not i'll put them here anyway. the APC40 should be plug and play but if not, there should be a template within ableton somewhere tooHow to Install the MASCHINE Ableton Live Template for Live 9.1http://www.native-instruments.com/en/su ... -live-9.1/
BeatLeSS
Sweet bro. We're gonna have a fun time together by the sounds of it. What you looking at doing in it, launching clips on top of deck mixing or moving away from the decks altogether?
LabRat
It'll be moving away from decks all together. So in ableton you have 2 windows, which are your live and arrange views. The live view has all the cells and your controller will trigger those cells. So what I'm planning to do is chop up my own samples, load them into the cells and trigger them off as I please. You can load up plugins and use the controller to manipulate values on the master for those fancy effects. Hopefully I'll be figuring all this out sooner rather than later lol
Mitch
Options are pretty much endless. The maschine template for ableton is pretty cool, I've played with it a bit. Can also run maschine as a vst inside ableton, then send maschine outputs over multiple tracks, and have extra channels for clips with the apc/launchpadAll depends how you want it to work
