Jaz Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 hi, so i want what the title says, and have had a look threw winamp with shoutcast but thats not right for me, i dont want a hosting programi basicly just want a free website that i can live stream my music from Virtual Dj's Broudcast tab onto the net and then link to a few friends to listen, i have started using listen2myradio.com and it works fine but is as basic as the dark ages.does anyone know of somthing with the same concept but alot more of a "pretty" site?cheers Quote
djarmed Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 you can find some for free BUT you got to remember if your playing copyrighted music then you have to pay royalties to the artists which then leads you down a whole other path.their are host sites which you pay a fee for and that covers all royalties and they aint too expensive. It can end up being an expensive hobby though Quote
Jaz Posted July 4, 2010 Author Posted July 4, 2010 So if I was say mixing some ministry of sounds songs together and broadcasting to 4-5 odd ppl on that free radio then I should be paying royalties...? Quote
Cupe Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 the law is the lawbut im pretty sure there's some ruling about playing the music for a small audience. like watching a movie with 6 mates isn't broadcasting for the publicbut i think its the broadcasting that might be the issuein the end, no ones gonna care tbh. djarmed Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 yeah if its only to 4 or 5 ppl then i dun think anyone will hassle ya..... Quote
