  1. I believe it's spelt 'spelt' lol
  2. yeah, once you have set up the loop properly, its a fool proof way to match the two songs.
  3. Wow, that's perfect then. Just what I needed. I was thinking once I got better I would invest in the DJM-800, SSL and get a pair of Turntables to do real scratching which would require 2 more channels. But If you can switch between channels, that'll save me heaps. What is build quality? Like the quality of the crossfader, dials etc and how much abuse it can take? It's only about $130 difference. Mid next year I should be getting $750 per week woot. Should be able to get my gear in no time. Just wanted to start DJing early so I can have a early start off. well yeah then get the pioneer. Mayb buy s 2nd hand mixer or something in the meantime. BY build quality I mean the circuitry underneath, quality of parts, filters, heatsink etc. Pioneer has a tighter frequency range also. Behringer are renowned for taking shortcuts. However, I'm not saying the DDM400 is bad, go to storedj.com and check out their review of it. Neither a designed for scratching, but I've never been convinced on the concept of a 'scratching mixer'.
  4. Ok, bit slow to get going If you want to kick a song in straight off the first beat and your not confident in how accurately you can press play. Try launching a 4 beat seamless loop, letting that play at the start of every bar under your cue channel and launch it in when necessary, just remember to do all EQing before hand and don't forget to end the loop!
  5. there is no way in hell you can learn to DJ by reading manuals, thats the most fucked up thing i've ever heard
  6. lol, this ones ok, ive seen some fucking annoying ones though
  7. btw buck_choi, DO NOT plug your cd players into the phono input
  8. its not all about channels fellas. I would say get the Pioneer definetily, if you have the money. DDM4000, is ok, but obviously lacks in build quality, the effects are ok, but not as gd as the the pioneers. Yeah you can flip between line in (CD) and phono (decks). Means you cant do 3+ channel mixing, but thats pretty advanced.
  9. its obviously a bot. only a douchebag bot has a username like that and introduces himself like that
  10. only with 5-6 difference, dude thats a shitload
  11. You got the Xone xd 53s did ya? Nice man, they're pretty sweet ey
  12. Ok, so most dance music has a signature of 4/4 (quadruple). This basically means, 4 beats per bar and they are full beats. Now, I have found, not very often, that some songs tend to ignore this rule of pattern, ussually only for one sequence (about 8 bars). But if that happens within the first 32 bars or so, it can completely ruin your transition. For instance: say that first sequence in a song goes smoothly, launches into the 9th bar like it should, but then as it approaches the 16th bar, the music changes early! Say in the at the start of the 16th of halfway between 15 and 16. You're screwed! I have found a pretty simple way to fix this. Insert the track into Live and copy a beat from the sequence that was short and insert it again, to effectively have one more beat. make sure it doesn't effect the rhythmic balance though. So its much easier to do this with a kick or a tom, NO MELODIES I'd like to hear what you guys think and if you have come across this.
  13. Ok, so I'm sure nearly everyone here has had one of those bad transitions where they just couldn't figure out what went wrong. I'm here to tell you that I have discovered several reasons why, I've started this thread for other people to contribute as well.

    anyone for melbourne? lol
  15. ok....
  16. I got my first set up for $1200. 2 American Audio CDI 300s and a Behringer DDM4000, then I replaced that with a Xone:22 and bought my Xd-53s. One small step at a time bro, especially when you have little money. If u had the money, I'd tell you to go for the 400 setup... but yyeah
  17. It's full on because of its price dude, the only difference between that and a industry standard one is 2 more channels. Haha, noobs just a general term cus you only just joined up.
  18. nah. im not wasting that much $ on ipod headphones. Logitech have a pair that retail for over $700 lol.
  19. Well scratching on CDJs is for homos anyways imo. Ppl here will probably agree with that, it just doesnt feel right, trust me you'll understand in due time. And surely there is a cheaper alternative that will support usb? If not, dont go all out on the DJM400, cus I don care what anyone says, the 400s are a pretty full on mixer, especially for a beginner. Try a xone:22 (what I've got) or a DDM4000
  20. The sennheisers cost me about $80 from Jb Hi-fi. Pretty gd man, real comfortable, amazing isoloation.
  21. wow, you must be keen lol. Yeah using actuak decks is A LOT better
  22. why do you want such good gear? Why dont you aim for something cheaper to start off with?
  23. wait until you dont have a waveform to look at
  24. no they will work, definetily. but you wont get as much volume. You'll get a fair amount though. So I spose they'd be ok. But whod wanna carry round headphones with a massive cord like most pro headphones have? better just to get the sennheiser in-ear phones that I have. Mad sound and awesome isolation.
  25. most trance is pretty easy
