  1. yeah, but someone who sounds like him for some harmonic mixing, like edx, mark knight, moguai, steve angello etc
  2. yeah but he wont get much use out of it, cus the two songs match allready. in the back of his mind he'll know exactly where to have his pitch.
  3. yeah, only fools use a DVS system without the hardware.
  4. hey man, Audio Technica sell a re-badged version of my Xone Xd 53's. They're called pro 700s or something. Apparantly they sound basically the same but the build quality isnt as good. And my XD53s sound fucking wicked, a lot of pros use them. But yeah, Sennheisers are good, i dont like how they sit though, was talking to Grant Smillie on wednesday and he was using the pioneers, then the sennheisers. Wat else... you cant go wrong with sony either. They're all basically the same. Just remember that they are DJ headphones, not ipod headphones, they have a higher impedance, therefore they need more power to drive them. Power that a ipod cannot supply.
  5. try not to combine two Deadmau5 songs though, because he produces along a very consisent tempo, basically nearly all his tunes are the same speed.
  6. Anything deamau5 or david guetta, when love takes over maybe. Also EDX, kaskade etc. Prog is the best for smooth consistent basslines
  7. Once the numbers start rising, then so does the level of experience, sure there will be douchebags. But if properly moderated and respected, it can completely shit on ITM.
  8. lol. Im good. My one experience in store at DJ Warehouse wasn't a very pleasant one, but they still have good prices
  9. Lol, it is up to you. Your the global mod
  10. DJ warehouse is having an online sale this monday, in store sale this w.e
  11. 1000's are obviously better, but not by a great deal as what Genetic said. However if you can get them for a similar price, definetily get the 1000's. The differences include: - the 1000 has a Waveform print out, which is a massive feature IMO, - pitch range in the 1000 is 6-100% & and 800s are 8-100% (this is important for very fine tuned beatmatching. .3% of a pitch can be the difference between a gd transition and a perfect one. These two features are what stand out IMO and I reckon black looks fuckin tough on the 1000s. In most cicumstances, unless your pro, buy the 800s cus of the ridiculous RRP difference. But if you can get the 1000s cheaper... DO IT!
  12. precisely. I saw pics of Armin's studio a few years ago on his site... absoloutely amazing. You can tell he's a millionaire.
  13. yeah but laidback luke is a a remix whore. Not a lot of hardware needed for that.
  14. ohh is the link to donate to you? I thought it was to donate to ADJF...
  15. So I met Grant Smillie today at a gig. Talked to him for about 10mins or so. Really top bloke. We talked about the new CDJ 2000s, he said he allready has a pair and I was discussing with him about the needle drop feature, he loved that the most, had to agree with him. Also, he said that Pete Tong wasn't playing at Summadayze because of a 'billing issue', code word for not getting paid enough I think. But yeah, I reminded him how much of a big deal it was to get him over and he seemed pretty pumped. Would have loved to talk to him more, he's played along side some massive names. But yeah. Moral of the thread is, if you over get to talk to a famous DJ or for that matter, an experience one, do it. Ohh and I told him to drop by ausdjforums.com for a look at the future of online DJ communities in AUS, he seemed pretty open to that HI GRANT!
  16. hey man, try running that link through a site like tinyurl.com, if length is the problem. I have a problem with things being too long also...
  17. Ableton is the best to produce flawless mixes on. But very little skill involved.
  18. I agree with you that the law is fucked. But theres also the ppl that use them completely irresponsibly like at a cricket, tennis or football game. Or point them at planes. Good luck though, unfortunately I cant help you.

    Dj ace

    Hope he doesn't get bashed...
  20. You know, you guys could just PM each other? lol jks. I only use Live for radio sets. not much to talk about there.
  21. It's times like these Im glad I only defered lol.
  22. That'll be awesome, I might drop by next time I go down to the coast. Wherebouts do you live? Well I've done alot of research and I found out that the CDJ-400's are very good for begineers and amateurs. (I also want to learn scratching - which the CDJ 200 doesn't provide). If I get good enough I can drop by my friends parties and events and earn some $$$. I've been using Virtual DJ for about about a year now so it's definitely something I'm pretty passionate about. Although computer mixing (virtual DJ) imo is alot harder because you can only do one thing at a time using the mouse and there are limited options from using hotkeys. I'm also interested in going into music production as a side hobby after I learn how to DJ. I haven't had any real lessons or anything, just observing Youtube videos of other DJ's and their techniques. Dude, Virtual Dj is a lot easier than using decks. Just buy a MIDI controller
  23. start off what DJing? Man, i don't believe is there is any kind. It just depends on what YOU want to DJ. I don't know how to DJ D&B so I can't help you there. Just try everything.
  24. hmmm, I get what your saying, but have considered the technical issues inc. power supply units within the CDJs and supplying warranties for ppl? Its very risky mate, 30CDJs would have to cost you at least $5k. Why dont u just get a loan of your parents? Check out eBay too, I saw a perfectly good CDJ1000 gor for $610 a couple of days ago. Just be careful.
  25. Dude, CDJ 400xDJM400 is not considered simple. Your looking at $2000 worth of gear there. Yeah,do what ABT said, buy second hand, it'll be fine. You dont have to learn on decks, it would help, but in this day and age your nearly a dying bread who's willing to learn on CD players! let alone turntables . I think Tomy is from QLD.
