yeah not sure why with so many people using macs, but traktor is definitely built for pc in mind first, then tweaked to work in macs. i heard this week ATO's etax doesnt work on macs either!! ha ha i guess not everyone shows macs love. let us know how it goes. cant figure out how to check audio 8 drivers.
-
okay in the native instruments folder there should be a program called service centre. you can use that to update your tsp. what about the audio 8 drivers? not 100% certain, but maybe when you download the tsp update it might update audi 8.
-
hey mate what version of traktor scratch pro, go to help> About. and have you downloaded the latest drivers for the audio 8 AND make sure the older drivers are removed. 1.2.2 of TSP messed up macs. And you need only one Audio 8 driver as having multiple it up. (i have no idea how drivers work on a mac)
-
what you didnt see my thread "apple sucks,...." he he he yeah im looking it up on the NI forum now.
-
what version of Traktor Scratch Pro have you got installed. there were a few versions that messed up macs (the firmware cycle seems to be one that doesnt work to well on macs, then they fix it, then they mess it up again).ig you let me know i can check it for you
-
yeah cupe stop derailing threads aiight im back though looks like you got a pro on hand seeing as buck uses CD. and yeah like buck said dont worry about midi for now stick with setting up your time code since you will be mixing externally anyway

hey mate. sorry i was trying to upload pics but cant remember my photoshop login and have to dash out soon. but basically when you open traktor, at the top left, the first menu item is file. then preferences, then input routing. then with channel A, use the drop down boxes to indicate which inputs you have used on the Audio 8. Same for channel B. Then also in the preferences menu, there is timecode setup.in the first drop down box select line. (the second bit i assume, i use vinyl but seems to make sense). ill be back in an hour or two and try with the pics.
-
hey man. do it in the software. you can change it on the audio 8 by pressing the input button. but once ou start up traktor it will go to software lock anyway.
-
i forwaded it to my mate. havent heaed from him yet il give him a holla during the weekend

in comments, and what i would do is put markers where lyrics start, and maybe a marker where there is a good instrumental bit. kind of like putting stickers on your records back in the day. ive never actually been assed though
-
is that really a bother these days? i didnt know at least half the stuff kate monroe or shamus was pumping out but as long as i could get my dance on i didnt really give a shyte

awww temper trap! whos tiesto? -
i dont mind a lyric (be it vocal house or some dude rapping or a looped hook) but find it hard to mix unless you know every start and stop of the lyric. so if i do have one with lyrics i usually mix into one without, or into instrumental of same song if i have it so i can extend the transition.
-
thanks wazza. does that let me chop up a song though? you know like the old school hip hop guys (well not so old school where they were just using vinyl, but the sample generation) NOTE: though i am staying away from production/ remixing till i get my dj game in check. but good to know the info and that my mpd wont go to waste
-
do you know what software i could use to do the same with an MPD?
-
ill try to find link tonight. i think headfi or something like that. but basically something in there needs to be broken in (dont know where i got burn from) in order to get the best clarity and volume. so they play this white noise for ages. from memory it even had two stages. yeah ill try to find article and link it

hey anyone use em? if so do you use them all the time; at home; at the club; at a party/wedding/function; combination of any AND if you do use them at any of the above indicate for each do you use it in both ears; ear which headphone cup is on; ear which headphone cup is off. i dont use them but keep thinking i should, but then keep thinking maybe its only a club thing, but then think my cueing ear gets a bit of a run each time i smash it out...and i havent seen the film but just hearing about its all gone pete tong makes me paranoid. for those that dont know they are these things
-
hey so still wondering anyone burn in their headphones??

theres always ho's & blow

damn wazza i would love to check your house man, you own everything!!! so is this an old school sampler so all tracks/ sounds are saved on deck or is he hooked up on computer offscreen? that was pretty cool. funny how all the turntablists are the ones driving the controllerist movement. isnt zeiko a dmc supremacy champion.
-
i just bought A&H xd 53 headphones. used 'em while mucking around on someone else's kit. didnt really get around to checking sound quality, but definitely quite comfortable and easy to use (well the way i use em), and the other bloke i was with plays the on shoulder method and he liked them too.

okay played with cd decks for the first time today (rmp1's). yeah it is different than turnies. took me donkeys to try and figure out how to get back to the start of the song. must admit i liked the touch sensitive platter on top of the jog wheel. where if i put my finger on it, it stopped like stopping the record, and if i just lightly touched it, it was like the record slowing down. the loop functions were cool to play around with too. and it had a built in sampler. i can see how its heaps easier to start the record and get straight into the mix than turnies. right now with turntables, after dropping the track i still play 4-8 beats with line fader all the way down just to triple check i am in beat, but with these just cueing it up then tapping play right where i wanted it to start. i can see why a lot of the pro djs back in the day were saying the cd players were making it easier and the trechnology was adding a lot of cheats to djing. but you all know my view, i dont really give a shyte what tool people use.
-
i love b grade horrors with lots o blood but i hate the new torture films. yeah i bought the xd's. not at home thogh so havent tried em. dude at dj warehouse let me try it on before i buy. guess my head is fat cuz the headband was fine. didnt feel like the cups hugged my ear enuff but ill see. add anither one to your list cbg
