  1. ^ cheers for the write up
  2. I don't know. It looked that way for years granted, but there's been a resurgence in the vinyl market in the last year or so which to me says a lot of poeple are reverting back to the old ways. Now i'm not saying it's going to be a sweeping trend that will kill off technology but there's a definite interest in the back to basics school of DJ'ing. Of course I'm basing this opinion on the european market as thats what I know. brb moving to europe
  3. im not disagreeing, i learnt the traditional way before there was all this new technology and spent months upon months upon months of learning and training my ear, and it also helped that i have very solid musical theory background. Still get a nervous/traumatic twitch everytime i hear satisfaction... but look at todays market with multi coloured wave form dvs packages with auto everything (sync/looping/samples etc), as technology advances its just going to become more about how creative you can be with the way you can manipulate multiple tracks playing at the same time rather than if you can beatmatch and manual loop.
  4. basically yeah, but what can ya do thats technology for ya, no point fighting it. A turntablist could also argue that cdjs are cheating with led displays that show waveforms/bpms etc too but we wont go there
  5. no cue button would spin me out lol, would be pretty cool to learn the art Do you not know anyone that has some you can get a shot of? I woul dsay it's worth it but that's the only way I've ever played so it's a pretty biased opinion. Be good to have a shot and see if you like it. i did the same with CDJ's and hated them so was glad I didnt just fork out the money on them. unfortunately i come from a regional town that seems to be the sesspool breedding pit for all the bogans of australia. Im lucky there is running water here

  7. i started with 350s and the first thing i said after a month was "wish i got 900s this platter size is too small". I personally think the cdj350s will be the last small platter cdjs, because now you have controllers coming out with similar size platters + 4 chan mixer all in one for cheaper, so they are going to lose their value real quick, imho. 850s will easily retain their value, loko at the 900s, they have been around for ages and are atill 1500 a pop brand new, ive been waiting for those suckers to drop in price for ages lol, and with 850s being new and only missing those two features i listed its pretty safe to say you will get good resell value if you decide its not for you. 850s are rekordbox compatable for playlist and music management via usb, but not as a dvs because you need network for that
  8. think you just answered your own question 850s are great, and as andyman said jaz and fudd will be able to get you some info on those as they own them. Only thing 850s lack are quantized looping and no network port (network port being required for rekordbox to use as a dvs)
  9. well i was looking at the rmp3s, i want to know how they compare to pioneers, as ive only every used/owned pio gear
  10. moved to the approriate section
  11. ^ good timing i just posted about reloops lol, do you think you could do a quick review of them for me here viewtopic.php?f=7&t=8349
  12. pretty much sums up what ive read elsewhere, everyone seems to say they are high quality/good price but no one i know achally owns them :S id love some tts but never used them before dont wanna lay down 2g on something ive never used and probably shit with
  13. so i was humouring the thought of buying another setup for xmas, or early next year and came across this package. my criteria: cdjs platter size = cdj 850/900/2000s or controller with platter size = cdj 850/900/2000s (dont think there are any) 4chan mixer with individual volume faders and led displays and master vol fader value for money been hearing a lot about reloops being good bang for buck so had a search on storedj, no luck, thought id try djwarehouse and came across this little gem, like it was meant to be http://www.djwarehouse.com.au/reloop-rm ... -pack.html anyone own/used/experience reloops, and has anyone used their mixer
  14. Fuck yea dude i just jizzed in my pants, what mixer you hooking that up with?
