SonicBoom Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 Playing my first close this weekend was just wondering with music is it pretty much free reign on what you play? Like no guidelines other then keeping people moving. Quote
mattus123 Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 I always love close sets cause I can really bang it out, and have a bit more freedom.By the time close rolls around, pretty much 90% of your dance floor(if not all of it) is peaking, so they are gonna love everythingKeep to the club's style though.. like if its a house club, dont start dropping DnBYou will need to be careful about keeping the crowd energised though. They've been partying all night. I like to think of it as a game of tug-o-war.. they want to go home to bed, you want to keep them on the floor Quote
SonicBoom Posted January 20, 2014 Author Posted January 20, 2014 Djs beforehand start out with deep then work their way up to electro Quote
ThatPartyGuy Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 i've played a quiet a few closes at a couple of places.usually its free reign. i just stuck to the "vibe" of the club and kept the drunks happy while playing some awesome tunes.more then likely people wont notice any stuff ups, so you can try new things and experiment.
