Want do get some advice and alternative suggestions (if any) in regards to this quote I got priced. I'll be using the computer mainly for correspondence university all day during the week and music recording/mixing off the DJ set.

CPU & FAN: AMD Phenom II Quad 9550 AM3+ CPU (3.2 ghz) X 4

Motherboard: GIGA GA-MA770T-UD3P AM3+

Hard Disk: 1TB Seagate SATA II

Memory: 4 GB PATRIOT DDR3 1200MHZ

Video Card: GIGA 9500GT 1 GIG DDR3

I have a Mouse, Keyboard, Speakers, Sound Card (M-Audio Fast Track Pro,) Case, DVD burner, Screen (20" Samsung) included. He's asking roughly $2200.

Any good?

He said it's ****ing fast..lol. But just want some Third party opinions on price and if I could go better. Thanks in advance :)

you won't need a quadcore

you can always opt for smaller internal hdd's to get larger external

4 gig of ram is plenty

you need a heaps fucking good soundcard if you're going to use it for music, graphics cards that good are useless unless you're going to game

Yes a good sound card is a big one. You should also look at an additional hard drive if you plan on doing any real production or recording. The reason for this is that you can have your opperating system running on one hard drive and record independently on the other. Anyone who is properly into production and remixing will do this.

As for the price, it seems a tad expensive, have you looked on online computer stores? or thought about buying the parts individually and building the computer yourself, it's alot cheaper doing it that way.

Hope this helps,

Drew.

Skank by the time I did my first price above

the prices for gear has dropped yet again

and aldepends where you are too on what is bought

being on the westcoast of Oz we do get them cheaper for some reason

already know what other parst of the country sell for (especially when you deal with an Australian computer wholesaler)

anyway the last one you quoted 2200 on actually is way over now on what I would quote for the same or higher specs...

trouble is been in this too long :) (including Djing)
