At the request of eggsell, here's a dodgy picture of 2x setups we had going one night for a jam session - don't mind the pure blondes Setup on the left belonging to my mate: 2x Tech 1200, Rane TTM56S, Shure M447's, Sennheiser HD25's, Serato Scratch Live Mine on the right: 2x Tech 1200, Rane TTM57SL (scratch live built in), Shure M447's, Pioneer HDJ2000's

Yeah we got our turntables serviced at the same time, so we just brought all 4 back to my place and had a jam session before he went home It's all quite quick for me as well, but it really started by playing in a DJ competition at a local club - did pretty well and been playing at the same place every 2 weeks or so. Got my first city gig this Saturday also, quite excited!

To elaborate, you can use that break up to choose when to drop the next song. Of course, you'll most likely need to listen to these songs and count the beats first to determine when to start mixing in and out of each song.
-
What equipment are you using and what kind of music are you mixing? Majority of songs have intros/hooks/verse/chorus of 32 beats which you can easily break down into 4x8. i.e. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and again 1,2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and twice more

Actually, here's a dodgy iPhone one of when a mate came over and we had 2x setups going

Never thought to take any, but that's a good idea - I'll take a few and will post up soon

Hi all, Been on the forums for a few months, very active reader but haven't posted much. Thought it's about time I introduced myself. My name is Andy and my dj alias is aO (aye-oh). It's probably been 3 months since I originally got all my equipment and I'm steadily building confidence. I've done a few private party gigs and have played at a few clubs, hoping to get into a few more clubs in the near future. Running Technic 1200's, Rane TTM57SL, Scratch Live, Pioneer HDJ2000's and enjoy mixing RnB, House, Electro and current pop/club bangers. Live in Liverpool/Fairfield area in Sydney, so if anyone is around the area let me know because I'm always up for a jam session. Cheers, Andy

The Senn HD205 aren't that bad either, pretty good bang for your buck at only $60

Been mixing on Dr Suzuki Tablecloths version 2's for a few months, recently bought the Thud Rumble Frosted Plates (Butter Rugs [slipmats] + Flying carpets [slipsheets]) and I prefer the latter. Seems a bit more slippery, however that could be because the Tablecloths were well used.

Had a listen to these over the weekend, definitely preferred the sound of these compared to my HDJ2000's at lower volumes. Seemed to provide more bass, however the Pioneers sounded like they could be pumped alot harder which is more useful in the club environment.

[SYD] 2x Shure White Label Cartridges - Brand New Styli
ongsta replied to ongsta's topic in Buy & Sell - Gear
Cheers! Yep I've recently picked up some M44-7 and the Whitelabels definitely provide a cleaner sound compared to the M44-7's. Yep they're around $280 for a pair, which is why I think my price for $200 for a pair with a spare stylus is pretty fair. -
Hi all, I have 2x Shure Whitelabel cartridges (each just replaced with a brand new stylus) for sale. These are the all in one units that similar to the Ortofon Concorde series, you just simply plug into tonearm and you're good to go. 2x Shure Whitelabel Cartridges with brand new stylus each 1x Spare stylus (used but still in excellent condition) Price is $200 firm. Pick up available in CBD Martin Place during work hours or Miller 2168 after hours. Will post if necessary. Please call 0416 122 278 if you would like to discuss. Thanks, Andy

FS Sydney: 2x Stanton St. 150s and Xone 62
ongsta replied to foedragon1's topic in Buy & Sell - Gear
I bought the TTM57 Eugene had for sale a few weeks ago, so this is all legit. I was also a bit sceptical at first when I heard he was overseas haha. But all the gear was indeed at his friends house, the turntables looked in top condition too. If I didn't already purchase my Technic 1200, I would probably have bought these two as well. $600 is very well priced. Cheers, Andy -
Very useful post, I'm still deciding whether or not to get a pair of cheapy HD205's for $60 odd or just fork out for a decent pair. Has anyone been able to compare the XD40's with the XD53's??

ongsta replied to foedragon1's topic in Buy & Sell - Gear

Hi Eugene, Does the Rane comes with all accessories? And is the stand the one with clamps, or can it stand alone on its base? If you can please call/sms me on 0416 122 278, I'll be close to the North Shore this weekend so if I wouldn't mind coming past to inspect the gear. And we discuss pricing over the phone. Cheers! Could possibly be interested in the mixer, how much would you want for it? Will be able to pick up also. Thanks, Andy
