what figures are we looking at for custom PC? i would consider the mac pro desktop, i guess i could transfer all my production stuff off the laptop then. 3k though it's a bit rich.

so basically i need windows as most of my production because of the duo is done on windows i have a mac for everything else but it's slowly replacing my PC. so i choice is this. buy a new PC purely for studio computer, which bang for buck is good can get something high powered for a bit less. OR should a get another mac pro / mac book pro and run windows off it. The main advantage being i can transfer everything over pretty easily. any one got any advice. windows takes up a shit load of space... just not sure its worth it on the mac. will cost me heaps.

it's insane that the label in the article got featured on beatport and other sites. it was my understanding that Beatport is really picky with what they feature and they'll only do so when you have really good feed back & promo. So that's really out of character for them. Any one with half a brain can usually tell if someone has paid for fans or plays.

well the vegas Vs ibiza thing had to come. I think it's great that they are getting rid of the top dogs in ibiza. granted i really like most of those guys that have been playing there for the past 10 - 30 years but you need to keep it fresh. Maybe they should look at half and half and sort of phase them out or just capping what they pay. the club should just say we'll pay you $X and thats it. take it or someone else will. hahaha.

FL is great. just trial them all if you're not sure. ableton have demo's available. find one you're happy with and that you work well in. research man. serious. youtube some stuff. it's all there.

if your looking at getting into proper production I would get the DAW first then worry about controllers and shit later down the track. the software that comes with maschine is alright but nothing compared to ableton / logic / FL / Etc. The Maschine is more of a computer based akai MPC type thing. So you'd be looking at beats on the fly / sequencing and more live performance orientated stuff. I think you need to a lot more research. plenty of youtube vids on maschine and what it does.
