  15. Mixed In Key has announced the release of a brand new 2.0 version of their Mashup software this morning, bringing the software into 2014 with a slew of new features. The software has come a long way since we first reviewed the software in it’s 1.0 release (there wasn’t even copy/paste or clip editing back then!). Playing around with the new version for a few minutes, it’s clear that Yakov and the team at MIK have put in a lot of work to respond to early criticism and feedback from the community. The software still has an entry-level production feature set, but very much has a dedicated set of tools that help make the core goal of the software very easy: making mashups. The new features in Mashup 2.0 include: • The latest Mixed In Key 6.0 algorithm for the world’s best key detection • Support for Audio Units on Mac, and VST plugins on Windows so you can use FX in your mashups • Ability to reorder segments – just drag them past each other • Ability to select and move multiple tracks at once • Better automation envelopes so it’s easier to make changes • Left/Right panning support • Show/Hide the song list so you have more screen space to work with • Other speed and usability tweaks/improvements Mashup 2.0 is available on Mixed In Key’s site for $39, and is free for many who has purchased the software in the past. 16. Native Instruments has just announced an incremental update to its flagship DJ software. Traktor Pro 2.6.8 isn’t a major leap forward in functionality, but does make essential tweaks to the Controller Editor, as well as fixing an album art related bug. See — nothing to get excited about. Here’s the brief word from Berlin HQ: TRAKTOR 2.6.8 is now available for free download in the NI Service Center. In addition to overall performance and stability improvements, here’s what’s new in this version: • Updated version of Controller Editor 1.6.2 allows full MIDI map editing of the new TRAKTOR KONTROL S4, S2, X1, and TRAKTOR KONTROL Z1 • Fixed stability issues caused by m4a files containing embedded art previously edited in version 2.6.6 We recommend all TRAKTOR users keep their software up to date to ensure the best possible user experience. To install the update, please start the NI Service Center. Open the ‘Update’ tab, make sure the checkbox for TRAKTOR is checked, and click the ‘Download’ button. When the download is finished, just click the ‘Install’ button. Best regards, The Native Instruments team
  17. Perusing my social media channels, I came across something that (to use the modern interwebs vernacular) made me facepalm and LOL at the same time. We’re all aware of China’s loose grip on copyright laws, and when I say loose grip, I probably mean complete disregard. Not everyone does it you understand, but for some, making and selling pure counterfeit goods is big business — just ask Beats, Pioneer and Shure. But it’s when they do an amusing (to us but certainly not the manufacturer) take on a brand name that my attention is grabbed. This particular example comes from the Guanghzu Prolight and Sound exhibition, which is essentially Musikmesse China. Apparently, “Pane” sell PA speakers, and must simply be tapping into the prestige of the original Rane brand. I seriously doubt that you’ll ever see Pane PAs outside of China though. 18. NASDAQ has suspended trading of Avid, maker of Pro Tools, Sibelius, Media Composer and other pro audio/video tools. Avid received notification from NASDAQ on February 21, 2014 that the NASDAQ Listing Qualifications Hearings Panel had determined to delist the shares of the Company from The NASDAQ Stock Market. NASDAQ suspended trading in the Company’s shares effective at the open of business, February 25, 2014. NASDAQ’s move was expected. In March of 2013, NASDAQ warned Avid that the Company was no longer in compliance with NASDAQ rules, which require timely filing of periodic financial reports with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Avid’s latest Annual Report and 10-K are for the year 2011. And Avid has stated that “its audited consolidated financial statements for the years ended December 31, 2011, 2010 and 2009 should no longer be relied upon,’ because of accounting errors. Following the suspension of trading of the Company’s common stock on NASDAQ, the Company’s common shares will begin trading on the OTC Markets – OTC Pink Tier under the trading symbol AVID. The Company says that it ‘intends to complete the restatement and regain compliance with its SEC filing requirements as soon as practicable’. Source: synthtopia.com

  22. pretty sure they are after a sampler 100% necessary They are ultimately looking for a unit to play with live, create basic tracks etc and do live vocals over. Its all pretty experimental stuff they do live. i used to help them write tracks for things but now they have moved away and are going for a 'one-man kinda band' thing
  23. FUCK!
