i do know

not just breakdowns buddy. breakdowns dont hold tracks together. what would a set be with 28 breakdowns linking into each other? it gives an idea & a feel for the track. to the original point of skank's; its a good way to get an understanding of a track. i doubt that kind of vagueness is an attitude any of us would share when push comes to shove at a venue

i kinda have a system similar to this, few secs for: analyze bpm / listen for heavy, soft beats / skip every 20secs and get a general idea for the 'feel' of it. Doesn't mean i know the track inside out but i believe it gives you a pretty idea. Its a good system when your constantly grabbing new things. Like the track/sample whore i personally am

honestly, its not terrible. It does resemble dog shit on your favorite flavored ice-cream. it stinks but hey it tastes good. Business wise; a popular band mixing in a current fad. music that will put them in clubs etc. = smart

So im going to work on a collab with a friend in the usa & we are both using FL Studio XXL 9. which is good. Point & Q: If im using VST's that they do not own does that become a huge problem later or does it not really matter? I personally feel it might be an obvious answer but i thought "hey, no hassle asking in case"

i bet if you work at a call center you got a radio voice but you hear diff like a skinny chick seeing a fat chick in the mirror [edit]: text-to-speech would be a good start. i never looked into it. there are some good freebies out there.

*slaps forehead* i can be kinda useless i think what you said was spot on russell, because even if you dont like the sound of your voice (who does) you can tweak it so i will never sound like you, maybe even better Text to speech editors also sound very similar. So maybe weigh up the pros & cons of - you knowing its your voice or - other people knowing where the sound came from
