  1. End your sentence there
  2. Near field monitors are designed to be listened to close to the speaker (hence the name), whereas your typical hifi system is usually designed to be listened to from further away (such as in a lounge room). No matter how well you EQ your hifi speakers, the frequency response curve isn't going to be flat like a pair of monitors. With Hifi speakers, as you mentioned, they will colour the sound, which can be a hindrance, particularly when producing/mixing. If your using hifi speakers as a reference, you then go to listen to the same track on a different pair of speakers, to find it sounds quite different, as those speakers colour the sound differently. By using monitors, your getting a better replication of what you are listening to actually sounds like. Then when your mix/production is played on different types of systems, they are going to get a better replication of the mix/track as you intended. As the monitors have a more accurate response, it is the best initial reference your going to get. Another issue some people find with hifi systems is the slight lag in the amp before the sound comes out of the speakers, which people find hinders their beatmatching. I used to use a Sony sound system before I got monitors with my new DJ package, was surprised to see just how different the music actually sounds. It is amazing just how much a different set of speakers colours the sound so much. Many consumer speakers tend to boost lower frequencies, as many people uneducated on the matter think more bass = better sound = better speakers. I rambled there a bit but is probably pretty much repeating what you already know though?
  3. That makes it a matching pair now street? Nice one
  4. i got this too, did nothing about it. If it was actually pioneer i don't think they would have been sending this. It's so easy to fake using someone else's email address these days, can't trust anything.
  5. sweet, ill check this out when net returns to a useable speed
  6. I'm getting round to giving these a listen, life on capped Internet sucks though
  7. ^Electro House stuff, think they have made a couple of dubstep remixes and that sort of thing as well. They have remixed for Slop Rock (Tomy) among others. Haven't really gotten into them myself, but came across this and thought i'd share in case anyone was interested in entering
  8. The program scans it and it adds the key to the id tag for you. You can get it to add it to the artist, song or comments fields. It can add it to a dedicated key field also but not all programs will read this. If you don't use the comments field for anything i find that works well. However if your using CDJs adding it to the end of the song name can be handy as you can then read it straight off the CDJ screen
  9. garts on getting your first release out there man! I'll have a listen soon when net is uncapped again. If its anything like your other stuff i'm sure it will be quality and i will be purchasing.

  11. youtube quality is often not very good to start with anyway, so i just wouldn't download songs from it at all lol
  12. You can go up to 1,920 × 1,200 @ 60 Hz using DVI, so that isn't the issue. Also, VGA connectors can output higher resolutions than 640x480 in most circumstances these days. They are using better standards than the original VGA standard now, but retained the 'VGA connector' as such. As a VGA connector is also called an 'RGB cable', this may help it be less confusing
  13. After making mixtapes since 2007, Mac Miller is releasing his debut album, due out tomorrow. Not sure how many of you have heard of him, but he is causing a bit of buzz around the place. Debut single 'Frick Park Market' has already been released, check it below:
  14. javascript:(function(){url='http://deturl.com/download-video.js';document.body.appendChild(document.createElement('script')).src=url+'?'+new%20Date().getTime();})(); Add the above to your bookmarks, and call it 'youtube downloader' or simliar. Click it when you are on a youtube page, and the below bar appears at the top of the page. Click which format you want it in. Done. This is the easiest and most effective solution i've found so far
  15. The sound degradation was an issue in its early days. The newer players, as well as the newer versions of traktor/serato, have improved the algorithms over time. It's alot better now, and If you don't pitch too far up or down its fine. I try to mix similar BPM tracks anyway, so i don't need to pitch more than 3%, so it's not really too much of an issue (for me at least).
  16. I use The master tempo on my cdjs, And I've never had an issue with it.
  17. Master tempo/keylock fixes this?
  18. Didn't work for me either
  19. dude, another quality piece of work from you. I like the sound you have going on, nice one I have a gig in a couple of weeks i'll see how i go dropping it and report back
  20. i'm liking it man, if you could pm me the DL link that would be awesome! cheers
  21. He's still gotta buy a new video card that way though.
  22. No, all traktor has is keylock, which is the same as master tempo on the cdjs
  23. ^This sums it up, and that's what you want in a logo. I like it
  24. It's a good program, i've downloaded it and tried it out, about to purchase myself actually Mixing sounds wayyyy better when songs songs are chosen so the keys complement each other
