there is also a 'studio' out of frame but that's just some monitors and a 25-key.

Deep dubstep for me please or glitch-hop something that won't make me want to sing along or dance

well I'll sample like 4 beats of music into bank D put it on program SMP.7 and you no longer hear anything by placing your finger on the pad it triggers certain parts (or samples) of the active bank/s x axis = different parts of the bank y axis = length of the sample with this you can trigger little bits of that one bank and chop it up my only thing is that you can't seem to resample this 'performance' like you could if I had just applied a reverb program for example. :S maybe I'm not explaining it properly..
-
Using the SMP.7 program I can chop a sample not unlike the typical style of an MPC. The only problem is that I can't seem to resample my performance into a seperate bank. Very upsetting Does anyone know how I can do this? Something else I've considered is to purchase a SP-202 to just record a sample into it, chop it up, play it and record into a sample bank on the KP3.

TMA-1 from AIAIAI Lightweight, comfortable, detachable cable, comes with spare cable and earpads, good build quality, sound GREAT! and I like the minimal look to it.

Mine's pretty boring, I started learning piano literally about the same time I started producing and DJing. That was about 3-4 years ago?

I like the two ideas Def posted as well as YSM's thing - I'd slap that one my laptops lid for sure!

I just switched from a pair of CDJ-400's and a 4 chan Vestax to a Traktor set-up with Xone 1d and 2d. I love the Xone's mainly due to the fun of making custom mappings and all the cool personalised stuff you can do and the creative opportunities available with sample decks and extra effects etc. On the flipside - I'm yet to roadtest this new setup so portability and reliability are two issues yet to be tested. The plan is also to keep my cdj's and mixer in the studio for a number of reasons - I believe it's good to have a mix on decks every now and then when you have a MIDI set-up in the same way an electric guitarist glam rock guy should jam on his acoustic sometimes. Plus I want to have facilities for others that want to mix at mine. So switch to controller and enjoy the hell out of it cos it is the future! But consider if you may miss the decks and wheter it may be best just to hold onto what you have...is that $1000-$2000 really worth it?

I feel reluctant now to tell people that I like/play dubstep out of fear of being seen as jumping on the wagon or uncovering a derpina that shouts at me 'omg do you play skrillex!? I love them!' I play funky house opening sets at a commercial house club and when headliners like Bombs Away etc. come in and drop a dubstep break here and there it's amusing seeing the David Guetta fans feel all uncomfortable. But when I go to dubstep events around melbourne and are surrounded by like-minded people that appreciate quality dubstep it feels good. People are enjoying the music, 'dancing' how they please whether that be a chilled out bounce or an all out skank-fest! So the scene itself is great but when it seeps into other markets or vice-versa it just becomes unfortunate for everyone. Alas, the noobs will be gone soon and the real heads can revel in the fact that the shit has been filtered out. I just can't wait for when Rusko goes back to producing stuff like this

good to see everyone else is on Parametric EQ2 ascwell I don't get much use out of Fruity Limiter but Fruity Compressor is sometimes used on individual channels that need some boost with Maximus usually on my master. The only third party plug-ins i have is Kore Player and some Spectrum Analyzers... Big fan of the Image-Line products

Whats a good VST for big room house / prog house sythns ?
lok204 replied to luisg's topic in Music Production
I don't play with those kind of sounds much but alot of the presets in Sytrus seem to have that vibe... -
eggssell said it Cyrpess Hill are cool and shit but clearly just jumping on the hype of 'filthy dubstep broo' After listening to the sample though it should sound cool, they seem like the kind of rappers that can rap to a dubstep beat - unlike the one that wu-tang did...eeek
-
I would have enjoyed this track ten times more without the vocals
-
I don't see much point in duo's unless they can do something that one person couldn't do on their own.
-
@cupe well basically I was on djforums.com but it hasn't been working for like a good 3 weeks now (I assume it just isn't around anymore) and since I missed the random banter/track-sharing etc. I simply googled DJ Forum and this was the first result
