I'll see if I can get this sorted so you guys can check it out and let me know what you think.

All these copyright legalities really make it difficult for DJ’s to share mixes online. IMO I believe this will make it more difficult for up and coming DJ’s to gain exposure via the Interweb. I can understand why these restrictions are put in place, but I want to know 1. Do you think is it justified for this type of application (DJ’s sharing their mixes) 2. Is there a way around it I mean at the end of the day, there are certain types of people that profit from copying / recreating music…. But I’m just a DJ that likes to have a spin and share the music with my friends. I guess there is no way for the record companies etc to ascertain which one of those people you are. Thoughts?

A couple of mates used the app today with no problems. I'm thinking I might just upload my mixes to YouTube and be done with it. No copyright shi*, no glitchy sites / apps etc.

Really... Mix cloud seems to be really glitchy. It should be there. I'll Suss it when I get home on the laptop.

I just bought MIK and it works a treat, haven't really tired any other programs that support Camelot but when you get the Kanga together, do yourself a favor.

Played around with it a bit & made MIK put the Camelot code in the comments, then configured my CDJ900's to be able to sort via comment as well as key. So looks like I have the best of both worlds. Just had a quick mix using MIK..... great tool for a smooth mix!

Just deleted a Track from RB, analyzed in MIK, then added it back into RB..... the Camelot code stayed. Going from that it looks like I have to delete all my tracks analyze in MIK then re-add them to RB. I really don't want to do that..... GAHHHHHHHH I should be able to somehow overwrite the code already in there......

Doesn't work, however just to try something I selected for the Camelot code to be put before the artists name then I reloaded the tag in RB and it worked...... but really I'd like it to update the key field in RB so I can still search by artist alphabetically if I need to.

Yeah I have added the key field. I was thinking I might have to re-add my tracks but I really don't want to do that because then all my playlists will be gone and I will have to start from scratch.

Just downloaded the new MIK 5 and analyzed all my tracks, but now I want to replace the key in RB with the Camelot codes. Tried to reload tag but no dice.... had anyone else done this & been successful?

Did a mate from works 30th last night with my gear, started out alright... good crowd & eased in the tunes nicely. This was a freebee as he is a fairly good mate. He also has a couple of other mates that can DJ so I was happy to let them have a spin so I could socialise and get amongst it. Anyway he is a mad Hawks supporter, there were a couple of players there as well. So a couple of his good mates gave me a CD with the Swans club song so I cued them at key points during the speeches which was great and made everyone have a good laugh. After that things went a little south, a little kid was playing near my monitors and knocked one of them off the stand, luckily for him it didn't hit him, but unluckily for me is put a lovely big scratch and dint in it. Still works so it could have been worse. Then when the other guy jumped on he immediately started playing all the commercial stuff, naturally the girls loved it. So I let him get into it, the, when I jump on and start playing some tunes I was getting requests left right and center. It was giving me the sh*ts so I just handed over the decks to the other guy and got utterly trashed instead. Another thing that I was surprised with is that most of his mixing was really bad, not getting up on him though as he is fairly new to DJing, but just goes to show that sometimes the crowd doesn't care how badly you mix the tracks as if they are digging the tunes.

Sweet, thanks guys. Worked out how to add the key fields. Still think I might get MIK though as the Camelot method is nice and easy. Will MIK update the key field in RB to the Camelot numbers?

Just bought a hub so I can connect my decks though le laptop & Rekordbox... I know RB has a key analyze feature & thought, wouldn't it be great if you could sort the music by key so you can make a smooth mix easily with your library. I don't think that possible though, I mean I have analyzed my tracks and sometimes it doesn't even show the key at all, I'm thinking that feature may be a little glitchy. Has anyone stuffed around with the key feature on RB? I was also wondering if you can get the get the track that's playing on the CDJ to show on the player at the top of the screen on RB with more detailed waveforms etc.
